  1. hmmm, never even heard of it. sounds interesting though
  2. nope, but does anyone know anything about stuff happening in indiana or in the cincinnati area? the bluegrass nationals are coming up though!
  3. lol, whoops, didn't see that.
  4. kick! kick!kick! that is all you need to do. it is either "kick or be kicked" which do you prefer? plus, everyone has looked like an idiot at one point in time in the MA career. go for it. also, DON'T BACK UP!
  5. i consider martial arts a sport but that is just my opinion. if cheerleading is considered a sport then MA is definately a sport in my eyes!
  6. awesome job! i had my first tourny 2 weeks ago and i was nervous as well! but i did pretty good, taking first in forms. first in sparring (against a red and green belt, where as i am an oarnge belt) and second in breaking. it was fun! anyways, enough rambling on, congratulations!
  7. i compete in aau tae kwon do and amma(i think) i like competing too. it is awesome, esp when you beat a higher rank in sparring. that is great!?!
  8. most of the judges at the tourny's i have been to are good. i haven't yet ran into an extremely bad judge, fortunatly
  9. i can't even figure out how to use that calculator! ahh, lol. where is mom when you need her? lol, j/k
  10. we onlt sit in that position for a few minutes and only once or twice since i've been at my school, and it did friggin' hurt! but, maybe work on stretching more or something. as for the cod liver oil pills, i have no idea what so ever. but stretching should definatly help.
  11. work on combos and act like you are sparring the bag. bounce on your feet and kick. try to work on switching feet and moving around. it may look retarded but it is less boring and it helps. also, work on kicks that you don't do when you are sparring that you want to do, like if you don't use cresent kicks in the ring, use them on your bag and get comfortable with them and you might just be using them in the ring soon.
  12. have someone else put on their chest gear and you put on yours, stand acrossed from each other, then both of you put your right foot foward, then kick each other rotating kicks after everyone. do like 2-3 sets of them for 45seconds-however long it takes to get you tired!
  13. if you are getting attacked just punch them in the throat and gouge their eyeballs out! nasty to think about but that is what my instructor always tells me b/c i'm a girl and i am more likely to get attaacked and stuff.
  14. i got like 4-5 nights a week and i still have a life! just go as much as you want but some people burn out easily(thank goodness i'm not one of 'em, lol) so just go as much as you want i guess!?
  15. yeah, you do have to physically move the person to get a point. that is also why people kick to the head b/c that is the only sure point.
  16. i think it pretty much depends on the instructor and how things are run;)
  17. you might just have d/l something that is slowing your comp down or something? my comp grinds sometimes but just b/c it is going slow that day or something. sometimes some programs mess your computer up as well such as things like KaZzA and other places that you d/l music from?
  18. interesting, i think it is cool learning what what words mean in korean. i like getting new terms after i test everytime. i also wouold like to learn some things about korea. good idea!
  19. sparring is sparring. i love it all! actually i like continious b/c you don't have to stop until the match is over. but point sparring teaches you to block where as continious doesn't. it depends on the person.
  20. i practice tae kwow do and we do a both a roundhouse with the in-step and ball of foot. and we also use control so it's not totally how our school practices it?
  21. it definately depends on the person and how their school trains. so many different things matter that it is hard to compare unless you know two people from two schools and let them battle it out or something? just my thought.
  22. then lying on the floor and landing on your legs--kipups(that's what they are called, i think) just fall backwrds like a fall, then go back on your arms and puch as much as possible. it might take a while. i am still workin in it. i just started last week but i am almost there!
  23. what exactly do you hips feel like because i have been having pain in my as well, i think it might just be something minor such as stretching them or something though?
  24. i stretch alot. i stretch before and after class and on my own sometimes. i haven't tore anything but my hip does hurt a lot when i do side kicks and things. and yeah, it almost hurts when i stretch but is not painful.
