just tell her that you are there to train. be her friend but tell her you already have a g/f. talk about your g/f alot too. that is a turn off and it should work.

i don't condition hardly at all and i am doing fine in TKD. i guess if you feel like doing it, do it.

Do chicks dig guys who know karate?
IAMA_chick replied to BKJ1216's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
personally, i would rather go out with someone from my tkd school just because i am there so much! and people in MA just give off something that i like. everyone at our school date too. my school's name is Indiana Academy of Martial Arts and we call it IAMA for short, people always joke about the IAMA dating service, lol. plus, MA guys just look better..well, SOME of them. just my opinion. -
i would say both. you get most of your stretch after you are sweating though. i would say, like after class. but if you do it in the moring, then it makes you have more energy.

kichinkitten--i live not too far from columbus(i have a tourney there on may 12th!) and if you just call around and ask places i'm sure that they would give beginer lessons. my MA school does, and i'm sure many others do as well.

Is the Iraqi War going to be another Vietnam ?

i'm not too sure, but i'm really hopin' not. and i also agree with Wado Guy about not repeating it, that would just be stupid. -
does anyone know of any other magazines from diff. company's with MA equipment, supplies, uniforms, and etc.. in it that i could have mailed to me for free?

i think that if we are for or against it, that no matter what, we should all support the troups. and the riots have got to stop. riots are allowed b/c of freedom of speech and the 10 amendments anda such and that is the same reason that we are over there.

ok. i'll go there jonny. -
just go in and don't over do it. have fun with it again as well. good luck with it all!
-
just kick or be kicked. either way, just have fun and take it as a learning expierence. also, kick hard and from both legs. bounce and keep your weight balanced. switch legs and do many combo kicks. also, try to kick at least 3 times before you back off, if not more! good luck

i think practice is good. i would personally add forearm pads and shin/instep gear to my list. the karate book is a good idea, never thought about it before! definately add a mouth piece and head gear as well. just be careful at first and don't try to over do it. in tkd we started doing sparring the first week, so i dunna? just make sure you don't kill each other and work as a team and tell each other what/ what not to do. it works well that way. does you from do MA?

I don't belive i'll be able to make it in karate.
IAMA_chick replied to BKJ1216's topic in Health and Fitness
keep trying. you WILL get used to it eventually! don't give up. we have people come into out class all the time who have seriously NEVER worked out before! it get's easier to run after a while and the same with other things. yeah, and soreness is good as long as it isn't painful, because it means your body benefitted from it. i love being sore! don't give up and if you do, then you really, truly don't want to do it that bad. just some advice though. -

good suggestions maestro. i have an aau tourney coming up soon, my first one, and you get 2 points for kicking in the head. do you have any other sparring suggestions? even if they don't hve a thing to do with kicking someone in the head, i'd like to hear them. jonny, what is your web-site? didn't get the foot of the post thing? blonde moment maybe? -
