Wado is better for the body, but in the other hand, Shotokan is more succesful at competitons and tournaments because of its many kata's it has. Try both and see what fits you better.

Black belt is just the beginning.
-
That and it depends on the instructor too.

Yes, exactly! I actually already am a teacher in my Dojo, I'm the only one in Estonia who has a belt in Shito-ryu and I brought it to Estonia. But I want to be a real teacher with my own Dojo and own club and shito-ryu style! btw, you can't immagine how cold it is in Estonia during winters, It's VERY cold

And if I had to choose a sword, I would choose a pair of Wakizashi's! I adore those swords, I love them!

Hmm.... well, Okinawans who used karate knew and had the right way of karate, the true way and they had the 'both sides' of karate. But japanese took over it and lost the real meaning. So, I guess Okinawan styles are more original, and I like it.

I never felt like that when I started martial arts. My personality has always been calm and cool, I don't really know why, but it has never changed to an aggressive attitude, just because I don't like aggressive attitudes. My thought when I started practising martial arts was: "I have no target, I just want to feel that art really close to me"

We can't say, that Tai Chi is only a healing art, not a martial art and we cannot say that Tai Chi is a martial art and not a healing art at all. It is both - a healing art and a martial, which make this style a TRUE martial art. Tai Chi is the oldest martial art of all martial arts and it is the most powerful art actually. It is an ancient martial art.
-
And the point of Tai Chi, is learning how to find and use your Chi and Tai Chi is an art to keep your body hale and heal others, old masters used to do that, but they are very few nowadays. Tai Chi is a martial art only for people who are so called, fighters. And Tai Chi is an healing art for people who knows what the duty and the true path of martial arts are.
-
Chi is a complex concept.
-
Chi means or is: breath, vapoir, air, steam, vital fluid, force, temper, feelings, human energy, and the psychophysical power associated with blood and breath. And energy comes from the heart. Understand what chi is now?

Early belts? One girl in my Dojo has blue belt and she hurts everyone when she spars, because she has no control. She says: "oh I wanna kick someone! I wanna hit someone today!"..... khm.... one karateka who has chosen the wrong attitude... ...

Yes, the Dojo floor is washed every training, at the end of the training and before we start the training. But it's just that Estonia is not a rich country, and we don't have super clean and warm Dojo's here, not like a palace you have there. I wish we could have such a nice Dojo, but we don't have. The Dojo is not even ours, it belongs to a school, an old school, which is also cold. In Estonia, no Sensei's have their own Dojo. Sad, I know, but I've got a little house in my garden, which is not for use. And I'm going to clean it and make a nice Dojo of it, my whole family wants to do it, we are the *Martial Family*, lol.
