HOW LONG IS THE SESSION ??
-
Welcome AusRonin

Totally agree with you. Yesterday in the class my sensei told me putting more effort while learning the basics will give me more time and focus on fine tuning my techniques later on (instead of focusing on correcting my basics)
-
Thanks for the advice sensei8 .... I am trying really hard to do it
-
yes it's very encouraging to find someone like yourself ... just starting a long journey
-
Sorry Hrkon72, but I have to disagree with you at this point ... eating healthy food and being non-smoker maintain heart health I agree but heart problems might happen to any one despite of healthy lifestyle ... sometime it's hereditary or due to high blood pressure for long time for example. you can't be sure that your master's condition is due to punches to the heart ?!!!

Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts

I have been searching for the real origin of MA but I couldn't find much. Does anyone know how the MA started? who started it and where? it's just to have a more clear picture for MA in my mind (History is always important)

Thanks Hawkmoon I am trying hard to do it

..legs kicks... ...and issues? from my own experience (it is all I have) I'd have to say, No! I'd point out that a Kyokushin fighter has been kicked and is kicking legs from (in many cases) day one of there MA career! A Kyokushin fighter has as a result of this 'blocked/deflected' even 'rolled' with the attack so often its second nature to them! Legs do get tough, and the pain is dulled as a result, kick boxers do the same with there shins! Its a normal result to the training, nothing new or magical about a Kyokushin fighter here! Maybe this next bit stems form 'general' not individual misconceptions of what Kyokushin karate is.... ...Punches to the heart... ...... sorry what? Not picking a fight, pointing at anyone, certainly not trying to insult, simply exploring the 'concept'.... I'm asking to step back and consider the 'idea'. Punch someone in the chest and to an untrained eye, it was a heart punch! No matter who the viewer is, (I'm of the opinion we need to keep this in mind that however small (or large) the influence of the following is) MA is to many still a mystical far eastern dark art of fighting! So to the 3rd party who maybe considers MA as legal violence a punch the chest and its a punch that is trying to trigger a heart attack! Not so, else there would be a few deaths and a public outcry to ban the practice of MA! We all practice/perform a contact sport, yet I suspect (if we look) that there are more deaths in boxing or even motor sport than MA records. MA competitions, tournaments training camps, dojo sessions happen far more often, everyday, every weekend with much more regularity than these sports that do record such incidents! Full power or not without exception every school teaches chudan punches, punches to the chest...so everyone is subject/guilty? No, I don't think so. ....does this makes sense? Solid post

no worries ... most welcomed mate

Just finished my second class .. it's really amazing ... every time I love this art more and more. Today the sensei taught me the basic punches, blocks, kicks and stances, but my problem is that I feel like I couldn't remember anything from what I have been taught today specially the blocks I really want to practice all what I have learnt today throughout the whole week till my next class. Any advice ?!!

Yes wagnerk, Naproxen is very harsh on stomach and should be taken after food (preferably the main meal) but if you still have a bad stomach after that then better to check with your GP as you might need another medication to protect your stomach from Naproxen wish you get better soon
-
No worries, you are most welcomed. keep us updated

That's what I am exactly doing .... Thanks

I have just started training in Kyokushin school .... I really like it but at the same time it's physically demanding style you can find more info about it in the following links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyokushinkaikan http://www.cujickyokushin.com/kyokushinkarate.php and this link for Mas Oyama (founder of Kyokushin) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mas_Oyama I really have no much info about the other 2 styles but I hope this post will help you with Kyokushin
