I will try wagnerk, but I am sure 1 or 2 lessons won't be enough for me to decide as these will be my first karate ones in my life. I don't think I will be able to assess the style and the instructor in just 1 or 2 lessons but I think I will give it a go and try. thanks for advice anyway

Thanks Wagnerk ... it's really very encouraging and helpful post. Can you tell me what is the main advantages in this style over others specially Chito-Ryu?! as I am currently comparing between these 2 styles to start one of them. Thank you

Hello, Sorry Guys I am asking many questions about different styles but I don't know much about Karate so I need your experience to help me deciding which style to practice. I found a school doing "Kyokushin Karate". Anyone know anything about this style. They are claiming on their website that it's known as "THE STRONGEST KARATE" ?!!!! website is : http://www.cujickyokushin.com/kyokushinkarate.php I appreciate your opinions Thank you so much in advance

Yes Guird, that's the most common feedback I get about GKR
-
Thank you so much kusotare. I think i will try their free class and then decide

Can you post a link to their website? Karate, Jujutsu, Kickboxing etc., are all umbrella terms. They are basically valueless without context. What style of Karate, Jujutsu etc do they teach?, Who taught the teachers and in what tradition? What experience do the instructors have etc. etc. ? I'll be honest - a school with the name "Ryu Bujitsu Kai" doesn't sound promising (for a start they are using badly spelt Japanese terminology in a wrongly constructed way), but I'd be happy to stand corrected. K. Thanks Kusotare for you quick response. I am very new to the martial art and very confused with all different styles and techniques.I want to make sure that I do the right start in the right school The link is : http://ifamartialarts.com.au/#/ryu-bujisu-kai-karate-ju-jitsu/4578265079

Hello All, I am still looking for a good Karate school to join and I've found a school that teaches " Ryu Bujitsu Kai Karate ". Anyone know this style or if it is any good?! on the website it's saying: "It incorporates a mix of Karate, Ju jitsu, Kickboxing, Grappling , making it a complete martial arts and fighting system." , which actually looks good if it is true. Thank you

-
What do you mean by solid karate ?! sorry I have no much info about the martial arts ... I am just starting
-
Have you practiced it before?!

Thank you all so much for your comments. while I was browsing the internet I found many negative feedbacks about GKR. I wonder how these guys are popular in Australia and have large number of members?! I met the "sales rep." of GKR and she was trying to push me by all means to join them on that night, she wasn't a very professional rep anyway

Hi All, I want to start Karate training but I have very limited info about the martial arts. Close to my home there are 2 different institutes doing Adult Karate classes with 2 different styles (Chito-Ryu & Go Kan Ryu) I want to know what is the difference between them and which is better ? if both are not good what would be the best style and why? I want to do it for fitness and self-defense and I am 30 years old. Thank you
