  1. Happy birthday , sorry it's a bit late
  2. I had bruised the front of my foot twice till now due to kicking opponent's knee. I guess that's my hard way to learn that I have to raise my knee more before I deliver a kick.
  3. I guess it would be good idea as long as you teach him the right basics & techniques. Only risk is if you teach him bad technique, he will take too long to get it right later on !
  4. I agree Alan, competitive conditioning is more prevelant. I belive in importance of conditioning but my question was if you do lots of conditioning, will it have a longe term effect on your internal organs ?!!! That's my only concern !
  5. Thanks MatsuShinshii for your detailed reply. I guess according to your post, I fall in the NO category. Maybe because this was my first LONG conditioning session I felt uncomfortable !
  6. Thanks Alan, problem is conditioning with low grades who can't control power !
  7. Tonight I had a " Bare-Knuckles Conditioning session " for 90 minutes. I am really sore with some lumps & bruising here & there What is your thoughts about conditioning in general ?! Is it important ?! does it have any health related risks (any effects on the internal organs) on the long run ?! I wasn't very comfortable during tonight's session but I really started to get the meaning of "" NEVER GIVE UP "" & that's why I followed my sensei instructions till the last minute. My other question will be, if in any session you feel uncomfortable, do you speak up during the session or you speak to CI after the session or you don't speak up at all ??!!! Sorry for the long post !
  8. That's exactly what people has to understand & that's I guess is the main reason for frustration ! Frustration for the CI or for the student/parent/whomever else?? Frustration for Instructors !
  9. Yes, that's true but sometimes belt is also sort of motivation for young kids to keep training !
  10. That's exactly what people has to understand & that's I guess is the main reason for frustration !
  11. Very true, totally agree
  12. My Sensei shared this post on facebook today , Does anyone face the same problem & how do you deal with it ?! " It amazes me in Australia that when life gets busy the first activity that people give up is the discipline. The one activity that helps children develop great working ethics, helps them to create the 'never give up' attitude, the one that teaches them to push through anything. Why is that? Yes my expectations of our students are high. Have you not got it in you to push through? I know for a fact our dojo is NOT expensive for the outstanding service that we provide. No I won't grade a student every month, every 2 months or even every 3 - 6 months either. Just because you pay monthly fees does not mean you get to grade every couple of months like other clubs in our area. If you want a black belt in 2 years, I know a few clubs in our area who can accommodate you for that. You have to EARN the right to grade in our dojo, in Kyokushin in general and paying fees is for our teaching services not to grade. Your entry to grade is the consistency of effort, your knowledge and your performances on grade requirements and the attendance record you put in to YOUR TRAINING. Just because you pay for your training fee each month does NOT mean you get grade more regularly. Every grade requirement is required for every grade you attempt. If you do not perform techniques properly and with absolute urgency, perform to the best of ability or know your syllabus knowledge then you need to look in the mirror and ask yourself, are YOU doing everything that is required for YOUR next grade? I know I teach everything properly, so you can forget about blaming myself or my dojo for your failings. It surprises me even after years of attendance people still DO NOT understand what the Kyokushin Martial Art is all about. THIS IS KYOKUSHIN!!!!! STOP COMPLAINING, STOP FINDING EXCUSES AND GET TO WORK. " N.B : I totally agree to her point of view but would like to know your opinion about that problem & how different instructors deal with it !
  13. I agree, sports goggles are the best option but way too expensive 😡
  14. Happy Easter to you & your family Sensei8
  15. I guess after losing most of your fat stores, it gets harder & harder to lose more weight. Never impossible but will be very slow. I think you are doing great Sensei8. Don't give much importance to losing more weight as long as you have healthy lifestyle !
