  1. That link no longer works.
  2. When the human body undertakes any vigorous physical activity, such as martial arts, your brain releases endorphins. These chemicals lead to a feeling of well-being. Endorphins also relax the muscles and reduce the sensations of pain. So the next time you don't feel like training, remember that the hard work will be good for you.
  3. If you can't go to the gym, or don't own your own weights then using your own bodyweight to train might be a good option for you. You can build muscle, strength and endurance without the aid of weights. Push-ups are common practise in most martial arts schools and just by placing your hands in different positions you can work muscles you never knew you had. Hindu squats and jumping is good for building strong legs. Most of the excercises are easy to do and take only a few minutes. Be creative and give it a go.
  4. Do the exact same thing he does to you and if he doesnt like it then tell him you will stop when he stops.
  5. lol. Also a good point. Maybe thats why you should mix drinks. Not just one all the time.
  6. General tip: Keep your hands up and attack with everything you got. Also try new things. You will never learn without practise.
  7. That would also help them with weapon work i guess.
  8. Thats correct pmh1nic.
  9. tenkamusou said: Thats a great way to sum it up.
  10. GrrrArg, if you want to stop people who are smaller than you from closing in then try the following: 1. If they are not so good then you can take the lowest forward stance you can manage to get down to there level and then block and counter if you can. or.. 2. If they are fairly good then you can try and keep them at bay by using kicks, has they try and move in front kick to the chest and so on. Or practise close fighting so you can match it with them when they move in on you.
  11. Not true in his case.
  12. What is PMA? Philipino Martial Arts?
  13. Ok. How will it better society?
  14. Just want to get a general idea has to why everyone trains. For me its all of the above things and more. What is it for you?
  15. Crowd them, and keep training. You still have growing and learning to do.
  16. There are some people in the world who are born trouble makers. If talking doesn't work make him stop training there or stop training there yourself. If your not having fun then change.
  17. TKD can be both hard and soft.
  18. 1 on 3 is even better... hehehe
  19. Yes ashihara is sometimes known has "fighting karate" and includes a bit a grappling has well. But in saying that, unless the practicioner knows how to use it then its useless.
  20. Not to sure but most people tend to think that the lighter fighters are better and the lightweight class has the most technical fights in it. This doesnt tell you anything about style but just thought i would mention it.
  21. That would have hurt.. hehehe
  22. StoneSkin, everything you said is very true. I agree they should measure power. And i agree that karate and wing chun have more similarity than differences. Most of the techniques can be performed in a similar way. The name of the man is William Cheung, he is chinese and lives in Australia, he is the sole inheritor of wing chun, and trained with bruce lee for a while. His site is http://www.cheungswingchun.com/WWCKFAindex.html
  23. Although some people may call you narrow minded etc. I think its good the way you show dedication to shotokan. Dedication is something that most people lack these days. Continue to train hard, but remember, every style has something to offer.
  24. Why not kenpo Shotokan_Fighter ? Do you have any experiance with it?
  25. If they are the same exeriance and ability its gunna be a long fight. Or the luckiest and most chance taking fighter will win.
