  1. Another solid post!!
  2. Solid post!!
  3. Yeah baby...party on!!
  4. Queston to all... Are your knuckles SUPPOSE to bleed while training the makawara?
  5. Try to make the changes now and many will turn in their graves; some literally and some figuratively...if you get my meaning.
  6. Oh YEAH!!
  7. ALso... "Women generally wear the same colour belts as men, although some prefer a white stripe on the length of the belt. This distinction was initiated by the Kodokan so that women would be differentiated from male competitors. But with the increasing number of women actively involved in national and international competition, the tradition of the white-striped belt seems to be vanishing." http://www.judocanada.org/system/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/National-Kyu-Grading.pdf Within Shindokan's Junior BB's identifiers, all karateaka's of this distinguishment are required to wear the black belt with a white stripe down its entire center length. It's been this way for as long as I can remember. Kind of like when a driver gets there learners permit and/or they're under 18 years of age respectively, their's are vertically up and down, instead of a 'regular' license is horizontally side to side. Easier for LEO's and the like, as well as others to decern them from those who are over 18 years of age. I've also seen the Renshi BB myself as noted with the red stripe down the center of said BB in many different styles of the MA.
  8. With us, Kaicho is the President of our Governing body. Kancho is the Vice-President of our Governing body.
  9. I too love those who bounce while sparring because, to me, they're wide open, well, that's how I see it.
  10. Punching bags, makiwara boards, punching pads. Or gear up your dojo buddy and get him to agree to be your human punching bag. Hmm I see, My Sensei doesn't let us use the Makiwara baords now because apparently people 'hurt themselves'¬_¬ Imho, People hurt themselves because they're not being properly taught/trained how to use the makawara pad. Discomfort, yes, being hurt, NO!!
  11. Still, our numbers aren't the Hombu's concern as to the versus ratio of whom can or whom can't test at the Hombu and the like. Our annual testing cycle at the Hombu is usually over 200+ students; all who've been approved by the Hombu. Without explaining and/or revealing proprietary conclusions; our Student Master Files generally contain: >Full name, current address, and phone contact(s) >Birthdate >Sensei(s) name(s) >Rank(s)/Shogo Title(s) earned >Pass/Fail Ratio >Date of last testing cycle >Whom administrated said testing cycle(s) >Tenure Information >Signature(s) of Authority >Etc [Proprietary conclusions]
  12. Yes!! No less than 3, that's in our By-Laws!!
  13. Yes...yes...yes...I loved it!!
  14. YES!!
  15. Hopefully.Last night went about like I expected for KC, since they couldn't get a pass rush. But, to Denver's credit, most of their passes were very quick drops, not giving the KC defense a lot of time to rush. They held the score down really well, but the problem is the offense just can't score enough. I had a feeling that Peyton and the Broncos would give the Chiefs a run for their money, and they did. Peyton at his best...quick passes and the like. But, MAN, I was cheering for the Chiefs all the way. One loss is not going to diminish what the Chiefs have this year, and that is momentum!! GO CHIEFS!! GO COWBOYS...try and least try.
  16. Love the wood! Don't like the chain because chains bind and ropes don't.
  17. Rattan is good. However, I don't like the chain. I love the rope!! Why? Chains bind, ropes don't.
  18. There should be, imho, but we'll never see this again, THREE!! White Brown Black
  19. Have to be 18 years old to test for Shodan in Shindokan...No exceptions!!
