what would you do?

I don't understand why you wouldn't recommend knees? Many stand up fighters have used knee strikes to stop a clinch. Mirko Filipovic used a knee strike to Kazuyuki Fujita clinch attempt and he busted Fujita's eyebrow wide open, and won the fight. -
Exactly!!! Before I have MMA or Muay Thai fight I listen to hard rock and do Thai pad drills to get my adrenalin going. Also I'm not there to make friends or shake hands, I'm there for business, to beat the $hit out of my opponent and make him bleed, that's my job in the ring. Yet has all this happens I keep my fear under control, cause fear will keep you alert, awake and aware but only if it's kept under control, if not then you better not even step in the ring cause you'll seriously get hurt. Always remember fear can be a good thing!

bad things about being a martial artist
Thai_Kick replied to Molson style's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
The one thing that really gets me mad about being a martial artist is when I tell people I train in MA and they shout "HIYA" and perform a hand chop or start singing "Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting..." or they may even attempt a kick. I end up explaining to them I train Muay Thai, then I get a whole new amount of respect from them , somtimes they even ask for lessons from me. -
I'm 20 right now, but in 2 weeks I'll be 21!

Preventing that ground fight.
Thai_Kick replied to Kensai's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I would use defensive grappling techniques like a sprawl to counter the grapplers "shoot" also utilize my Muay Thai in a stand up clinch, by using elbows, knees, head butts and low line kicks and of coarse keeping distance. -
XpOiSoN FrEeX, Can you please answer my question...

To the people that believe size dosen't matter, then please explain why... Boxing, Kickboxing, Judo, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling and MMA all have weight classes?

Well... It was a smart move; she knew your weakness and went for it. As a result she won, it's a smart tactic. On the other hand it's point sparring, and from what I know of point-sparring (which is next to nothing) your not supposed to hit your opponent or use excessive force. Oh well, next time you meet up with her in competition, kick her in the face. (Or can you even do that in point sparring?)

What kind of a competition was this? (Point-Sparring, Semi-Contact, Full Contact...)

Short Term: Muay Thai instructors certification, also my Savate License and instructers certificate. Get some main stream Muay Thai/MMA fights. Long Term: Open my own fighters club (Muay Thai/Savate) and teach, also to be a Muay Thai/MMA champion.

I really hate people who pump themselves up, and think they are tough becuase they have a "Black Belt" . Many Black Belts come to the fighters club I train at, in an attempt to try it out. The problem is they only last for one class and we never see them again.

Why are we arguing over Chuck Liddell and Vitor Belfort? We all know Liddell beat Belfort's @$$ and if their is a re-match, Liddell would beat his @$$ again! Just like he did to Renato Sobral on Friday at UFC 40! Sorry Venezolano, Vitor Belfort is over-rated and you don't seem to understand this?
-
I suggest that you sell your knee's and buy some new ones!
-
Kazushi Sakuraba already is a legend in Japan, long before he fought Royce. UFC Brazil was a pay off to the Brazilians, that whole event was crap, put Tank vs. Vitor again and Tank would cream him! Vitor is seriously over rated and everyone knows it, so his part of "Brazilian Top Team" who cares! The majority of his fights have been to "B" class fighters, his only respectable wins have been to Vanderlei Silva and Heath Herring. Yet Chuck Liddell has fought manily "A" class fighters like Kevin Randelman, Guy Mezger, Murilo Bustamante, Amar Suloev, Paul Jones, Vitor Belfort and he beat them all. Venezolano you are the only guy I know that thinks Vitor would have beat Liddell.

Tito beat Ken Shamrock, no wait! Tito Oritz destroyed Shamrock, there are not many fighters in these world that could have done what Ortiz did to the legend Ken Shamrock. After watching this fight I doubt there are many people waiting in line to fight Ortiz. Now Ortiz fighting Nogueira, Sapp, or any Graice would be AMAZING to watch, yet he would give all these fighters a run for their money. Sure Ortiz talks A LOT of smack, but he proves himself ever time he steps in the ring and beats some punhisment into his opponents. I don't like Ortiz, but this man deserves everyones respect. Tito Ortiz would KO Belfort, just like his friend Chuck Liddell did! A good fight would be Vanderlei Silva vs. Tito Ortiz again. GO VANDERLEI SILVA!

How many of you have actual combat experience?
Thai_Kick replied to kenpo4life's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Well... I not going to explain my experiences since this has been done on other posts but kenpo4life if you want to talk to people you have experiences in ring and street fighting then go to https://www.mma.tv The people on this famous MMA forum are all fighters, police officers, army personals from across the world. Also many any big names are on the forum ("Tank" Abbott, Tito Ortiz, "Pain" Peters, the Graices...) Try it out you'll feel more at home there, I know I do. -
