  1. Oh i see.. Well, i'll suggest you, look for some training partner that has any grappling experience (BJJ, Wrestling, or something..) so he can correct you. Many times the technique can't work by little details of grip or something.
  2. Althought i'm a begginner in BJJ, i've heard that kneebars, and anklelocks are very dangerous because they don't have the same tolerance that with an arm for example, knees are very easy to injure, so i thinkthat if you try putting many strength to it, you can injure seriously your partner. Anyway, i'd suggest you ask to your instructor if you are making the technique well Good luck
  3. in https://www.fighttraining.com there are a lot of BJJ's techniques, among them, there are single and double leg takedown
  4. In BJJ you can use a single and/or double leg takedown Also, can use Judo's throws, but there many aren't such common..
  5. That's your opinion, mine is different
  6. I don't think so, Vitor has powerfull punches
  7. B fighters? Tito too! Tito has won only to these famous fighters: Guy Mezger (second time, because first Guy won) Vanderlei Silva (and by decision, Vitor won by KO Elvis Sinosic (here tito fought very good, i accept it) Ken Shamrock (he fought good too) And yes, i think Vitor could beat Chuck if he trains hard before the fight. Anyway, let's wait to next year too see if we can see a Ortiz vs Belfort fight
  8. And what? if that, Kazushi Sakuraba, Wallid Ismael, who defeated a legend like Royce Gracie are legends too, and Vitor Belfort who defeated Tank Abott is a legend too.. wait! everyone is a legend! Tito beat Ken Shamrock, no wait! Tito Oritz destroyed Shamrock, there are not many fighters in these world that could have done what Ortiz did to the legend Ken Shamrock. He wouldn't have any chance, they are too high for him.. LOL!, Thai_kick Vitor Belfort only had 2 weeks of preparation for that fight, he was out of shape, if he would prepared well, he'll destroyed Lidell, and Tito is a pice of cake for him.. You'll see it if that fight gets I Agree, it would be an interesting match, probably we see it again next year.
  9. Ortiz a legend? ROFL! Best fighter in the world? bah!.. I'd want to see him agains Minotauro Nogueira, Bob Sapp, Rickson, etc.. I'd love to see Vitor Belfort vs Tito Ortiz fight..
  10. I didn't see the fight neither, but i saw a Ken Shamrock's pic after the fight and he looked very bad, see it: http://joshipro.shiningwizard.com/kenface1.JPG

  12. Kensai In your first post, you said that BJJ doesn't have stand up game, that's why i said you were wrong. In effect, it does have stand up game, but it's most oriented to ground fighting, like you said in your second post.
  13. No it doesn't BJJ also has stand up game, but it focuses to ground fighting which is different, it's like Judo, it's string in throws but it also has ground fighting techniques (ne-waza), it isn't it strongest point, but they have it.
  14. I only know Japanese Jiu Jitsu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which is i practice. I guess the main difference is that BJJ is more ground fighting oriented, it has more ground techniques, while Japanese Jiu Jitsu has more stand up skills. Particulary i like more BJJ than JJJ, but it's my opinion
  15. How long before your first submission?
  16. I've practiced some martial arts, but the more recently is BJJ. In my first class, i was a little weird about warm up exercises, and got tired very fast due to my physic condition, after that instructor showed us how to fall, and our first technique, rear naked choke, after practice those, we did a little of combat, i tapped very fast
  17. i think the easiest way to get someone unconcious is to choke him, it could be with a rear naked choke for example..
  18. i think the karate guy did a big error, go direct to close distance with a grappler, he should keep a certain distance, closing distance with a grappler (if you don't grapple) you don't have any chance.
  19. Yes, it has been only a week, but i got frustrated last night when i did around 4 combats, and i loose all, one of my opponents was a guy who weight is like 60kg (mine is like 80kg), and he is newbie like me, but i was so tired i couldn't did almost anything i don't wanna quit my BJJ training because i like it a lot, but i thought last night that i can't do it due to my pyshic condition I'm a little desesparated and frustated
  20. Hello, I just began BJJ last week, but in the exercises before the techniques, those to warm up, i get too tired, very fast, so when we do combat, i just can't do almost anything because i'm tired, what can i do?
  21. thursday and tuesday, sometimes on saturday
  22. I think grappling it's if not the best style for the street, one of the best, why? Because, it's supposed that in the street your opponent is gonna be larger and stronger than you, so it's stupid interchange punches and/or kicks with him, so in the ground i think i'm more secure, and i can control the person better, since almost anybody knows how to move on the ground
