What's up chickens? Welcome.

I know of it and lament the fact. I can not find a school that teaches in my area. It is my dream art. If I could choose one art to study, this would be the one.

Try Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. Great program for losing body fat.

Do hindu squats to increase leg and hip strength. It does work. Works all the major muscle groups from the waist down.

Popping noise when kicking

Is it the hip region or knee area? Audible popping is not good if it feels awkward. -

Not really, but I do work for an engineering firm in the KC Metro area. I have picked a few things up from there. -

If you choose this option, don't forget to drill a pilot hole. You wouldn't want to split the joist. -

They are the 2in by 6in boards that the builders used to create your ceiling. The gyp board or sheet rock that is your ceiling has been nailed into these boards. If they haven't been, your ceililng would fall on you. It is a framework above your head. -

Try to find a ceiling joist, or the 2x6 boards that make up your ceiling. The framing will be sturdy enough to hang a bag from. Screw your bag bracket into it. Use a stud finder to find one. -
to shave or not to shave?...that is the question
kchenault replied to Goju_boi's topic in General Chat
Okay, don't shave it. It will grow thicker. You could use Nair for men but it might burn your skin. It will keep the hair gone longer as well. Waxing or sugaring as it is called someplaces hurts like hell. Think peeling the skin right off your back because it pulls the entire hair out. You will bleed if you do this. It does however last the longest of temporary fixes. The hair also grows back much lighter and finer than before the self-mutilation. How do I know this? I have done all three. My children like me to go swimming with them and I find the back hair embarrassing. Laser removal is the permanent solution but is very expensive. -
SenseiMike, do you have a large dropout rate with the Christians in your school when you start to lean heavily into the zen and ki or do they just argue about it with you. I mean, how do the problems manifest themselves? Do you explain ahead of time that your philosophy deals with eastern mysticism and religion? Just curious. Thanks.

Look at the cast of the Lord of the Rings. The nine actors who were part of the Fellowship all got the same elven rune tattoo. Doesn't mean anything to me, but to them it signifies a special experience they all shared. They don't generally show them off either. That is awesome to think about.

Those people obviously got what it meant to have tats in the first place. They mean something to them and them only. That's the best reason to get one, and possibly the only reason to get one.
-
That's just what it sounds like to me. That you expect things but don't want to work to get them to happen. I don't know what your goals are but if you can, you should be helping people learn and grow. That is far nobler and much more humble than just doing your thing. What are you trying to accomplish in the MA's anyway. To be the best you can be? The teacher is the one who tends to learn more from the experience of teaching than the ones being taught. What the chip expression meant was that there is going to be point in your life, while your young if your blessed, or not at all if you can see the need for change, where someone is going to call you on your attitude, probalby going to be an employer or someone in authority over you. They are going to pull you up short or get rid of you and it will be devastating to you and be the proverbial wake-up call. I hope you never have to go through this, as I did, It can be a scary time, but if it happens, learn from it and grow as a person. If it doesn't happen in that situation then it will be someone knocking the snot out of you to humble you. Practice patience and look to grow in your life, that's all I'm saying.

Just an observation, maybe it's because this is in text and I can't hear your inflection, but I wouldn't respect you or want to listen to you either with that attitude. Take it from someone who knows, get rid of the chip on your shoulder, because in the end, someone is going to knock it off for you if you don't. Just some friendly advice. Take it or leave it

Maybe in your town or city, but tatts are more main stream these days and I live in Kansas. Your only considered possible trouble if your whole body is covered with them.

Amen and Amen! Great article. Puts my very own article to shame. I should have been as thorough. My bad....

self defense for preachers
kchenault replied to kyokushin_coe's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
You'll find Sam that a literal interpretation is what most fundamentalists stick to. Symbolism is what I would call the other outlook. Both happen in the bible. Symbolism generally found in prophecy. Hence a "crystal sea" is probably not really made of crystal, but means moer likely that the water is the purest form that God created. We digress from the original thread though. Back to topic, pastors, like anyone else should learn to defend themselves but not be dumb enough to think they can beat a bullet. -

Nice my Brother! If you lived in Kansas, I'd train with you. You should check out my article on the forum and tell me what you think. Always want another Christian's point of view. -
You all should see about continuing the compromise after three months. That would be the best. Congratulations on your negotiating Sensei.

May she be a good addition to your family. We love our cat who is now 14 years old and still acts like a kitten at times. Gonna be hard to replace her when she is gone.

I would say get one that you like, not what we want to see on you. YOU are the one who has to live with it.
