  1. All the things you've mentioned are present in the Jujutsu dojo I attend, as well as the usual compliment of throws, locks, etc.
  2. It gets very good around episode 8 or 9, then is very interesting up until episode 62. Probably my favorite of all.
  3. Aikido or Tai Chi. Just for interest and internal development.
  4. A combination of love for martial arts and training for possible careers.
  5. Zen in the Martial Arts by Joe Hyams has probably had the biggest impact on my training.
  6. As opposed to going to a McDojo and paying to get a belt and certificate that way? I've got no problems with this at all, it's just a piece of paper and has no bearing on a person's skills.
  7. Why not, we do it all the time on these forums?
  8. Happy Birthday KF. Now, I may be missing something, but how do I submit an article?
  9. I think any fighter would have to be pretty poor if some "obstacles" on the ground will ruin his game.
  10. Personally, when I was away for University I found a Jujutsu club out there that I trained at, and another Jujutsu club at home for the summer.
  11. What exactly would you like to discuss about it?
  12. Ah, unfortunately we've now hit the limit of how I can help. I don't have a lot of practice with chi, so I'd suggest waiting until another member of this board comes along. Jerry Love has some excellent advice when it comes to chi, so I'd suggest asking his some questions.
  13. Sorry for straying from the topic, but why do you keep bringing this up? By bringing up the number of fights you've been are you attempting to gain credibility, or are you just bragging?
  14. And I'm not arguing that you're incorrect, I'm simply trying to improve your theory by pointing out the holes that I can see. As it stands, I still see no fundamental difference between my examples and your theory (with the obvious exception of scientific definition).
  15. Yes, but there is a huge difference between an emotional state and working with your internal energy. If I get hungry, my stomach growls and causes a sensation in my abdomen. If I get shot in the stomach, a painful sensation occurs in my abdomen. Are these two events related or not? By your argument they could be just because they happen in the same location. A person is killed in their home. 6 months later the new owner gets pregnant in the same home. Are these two events related or not? By your argument they could be just because they happen in the same location. Do you see the point I'm trying to make?
  16. Saw it, loved it. Going to see it again tonight.
  17. Just because everyone experiences it doesn't mean that the emotion is linked to chi. You're linking two unrelated events and falling into the trap of creating a response based on your expectations.
  18. There's also the flaw of over-analysing a situation or expecting a certain reaction so much you cause it to happen.
  19. SC2 in the arcade learns as more people play it, and depends on the difficulty setting which is set when it's installed. The machine I used to play on had a ton of people playing, so it got very hard very quick.
  20. I help where I can for now, but when I get to a level where I'm allowed to teach I intend to start up a proper self-defence program in the high schools here.
  21. Honestly, I just want Soul Calibur 2 so much that I'm not caring about much else right now.
  22. Peaches and I are from the same dojo.
  23. That's a very circular question and the answer would lie in both. Either approach could theoretically work.
