  1. Thanks nice to get another colour. Well....... O Sensei, who else could I choose. Take Care XpOiSoN FrEeX
  2. Welcome to the forum of dreams........lol. The reason that you are well excepted is that we are open-minded and not ignorant MA know it alls (Well most of us....he he) Take Care. Enjoy.
  3. For me, ofcourse it would have to be: O SENSEI UESHIBA! Take Care.
  4. If you could be any Martial Arts legend who would you be?
  5. All I have to say about that is "hmmmm...." not sure about the sparkly red dress he is wearing, not partcularly traditional, nor American, yet he calms that it is an American system. For some reason he is tolding a CHINESE Taichi sword, yet he claims its Karate. If it was for Americans surely he would have them train in jeans and cow boy hats or something American atleast. I am sure he is a great fighter, but it smells of Mcdojo to me. Take Care.
  6. Respectful, the benfits of non-violence and the wonders that are wrist locks. Take Care.
  7. I agree totally. What do you study neil? Take Care.
  8. lol, dont worry niel he is usually like this. Take Care.
  9. Just for a bit of fun, saying that you were in the place of the shotokan guy, with what YOU know what would you have done? Saying ofcourse that the BJJist took to same attack. It would have taken alot for me to step on the mat with him, and its easy to say now what I would have done, knowing what the BJJer was going to do. But I would have taken the same technique that Sensei Shirata did when faced with the same attack, a back Ukemi, so basically looked like that move Ryu did in the street figher game. When as the BJJer came in, break fall backwards, put your foot in his groin and flip him over you. Pretty cool. Take Care.
  10. I was thinking the same thing, he just ran into a BJJist, MADNESS! Still a very entertaining video that I seem to always be watching. I dont know what know he was trying to achieve by that, its a game of distance and the Shotokan guy lost. Shame. Take Care.
  11. Thanks Submission, I respect what you said. Thai_Kick, can we try and have a thread thats not about how great Mauy Thai is. Thanks. I have been studing Aikido for about 6 months, so I am no professional. Its a life times study, and one that only gets better with age. So its nice to think that when I am 30 I will be better than I am now, but better still, will be when I am 80 I will be better than when I was 30. Aikido has no quick answers, you will have no hope of challenging a BJJist, MT or even Karate after 3 years. Aikido takes time to get "the feeling". Its more about Ki than physical strength. I study Ki Aikido, which is not the most "combat" orintated Aikido branch. But Ki aikido will make you the most powerful in the end, but it takes time. I am only 19, and yourself only 16, so you have LOTS of time. By the time you are 26, you will be pretty good. But then a MA is only as good as its practioners. For me, Aikido is not really a Martial art. What!? I hear you ask. Well its more of a "living" art. Its more than just fighting, locking and breaking, its a way of life. You take what you learn out of the dojo. I dont mean by this you Nikkyo (Nasty VERY VERY painful wrist lock) every guy in the street. But you try to be a better person. Like all the Budo arts, its about the warrior spirit. ZANSHIN! As for Aikido masters being untouchable, and speaking from experience, they are. But then again, so are most masters of all styles. Here are some links to for you to have a look at: http://www.aikidojournal.com/new/ http://www.aikiweb.com/ http://www.aikidofaq.com/ http://www.kifedgb.force9.co.uk/contents.html (The dojo I train at) Lastly I will leave you with a quote from one of the Greatest Martist Artists to grace this earth - O Sensei M Ueshiba. "Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered, those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid. Thus the wise win before the fight, while the ignorant fight to win." Hope this helps, Take Care. PS It would be great to have another Aikidoka around.
  12. Well................. Not so good for shotokan there, but very entertaining. Take Care.
  13. TOBI UKEMI (JUMPING BREAKFALLS!) Take Care.
  14. A natural figter would for me be not just a good fighter, but a good person, this includes MODESTY Sid Vicious Just Joking Take Care.
  15. Close the gap, keep moving, keep calm, wait for the right strike and lock his arms up good. thats what I would do. Ofcourse if that does not work then I would draw my katana and cut him in half, but you guys dont use those, so go for the first one. lol Take Care.
  16. That what I mean Jerry, carring a knife is going to cause more trouble and lead to a worse situation. Take Care.
  17. A KNIFE, if you start carring around weapons then you are going to get yourself killed. Take Care.
  18. Because we love it. Well I do anyway. Take Care.
  19. Safety is really the priority if you are going to do something like this. Unless someone is really skilled in first aid then you are being really stupid. Perhaps you should actually go to some competetions run by professionals than try and be cow boys and do it yourselfs. Just MHO Take Care.
  20. Bruce Lee is nothing in comparison to the great Wudang Masters. I know nothing about Shu Wen Lee, the majority of my research is more towards the great Hsing I master Sun Lu Tang and Ba Gua masters Liu Xing-Han and Wang Shu-chin. Any information would be great. Take Care.
  21. I thought your discription sounded a little like O Sensei. Tomiki Aikido was created by Sensei Tomiki, its basically sport aikido, I think its also called Shodokan Aikido. They compete with eachother just like in Judo and Karate etc, O Sensei was very much against that. Unfortunately Sensei Tomiki went ahead and did it. Sounds like a nasty style you have yourself there Punch, a very powerful mixture. Take care.
  22. I work with the bokken to, but I just LOVE the Katana. I Know I probably should not run before I can walk, but it is such a beautiful weapon and no other sword style comes close. IMHO. I am doing the following Cuts, Nukisuke - Drawing Cut Kirioroshi - Downward Cut Plus Chiburi - Blood removal Noto - Resheathing Kobudo is very interesting, its practioners gave my Samurai bretheren a hard time when fighting for the KyuRyu islands. I really like the look of the kama blades. Take Care
  23. I am learning Iaido from a series of books. I dont really consider it real training, just a bit of fun to run along side my Aikido sword work. Depends how far you want to take it. I dont think there is any subsitution for a real Sensei. Take Care
  24. ANOTHER AIKIDOKA (even if it is TOMIKI )! Take Care.
