  1. This is a good one if you're evil Get yourself two ketchup packets and roll one end up real tight. Go into the restroom of whatever fast food place you are in and place the rolled up ketchup packets under the little knobs on the bottom of the toilet seat. Make sure to aim the packets out towards where the feet would be of someone who would be sitting down. Gently place the toilet seat upon the rolled up packets and get the h ell out of there. When the next person sits down his shorts should be shot full of bright red ketchup! Ta da!!
  2. I spent the day finishing up repainting my NEW house(I'm excited ) and moving stuff into it(not so excited). I hate moving..thank god this will be the last one for a long time.
  3. I agree with Luckykboxer, if someone is willing to go outside and chuck knuckles, it most likley isn't his first time. I've seen big ole farm boys and "Rig-Pigs" hand too many wannabe "martial artists" their *. Too many people like to think of a street fighter as some brain dead zombie that is going to fall for any technique that you just learned in the dojo. Unfortunately most people with the juice to go and fight have the mental capacity to adapt and think their way through a fight.
  4. Sapp just got azzwhupped in a recent match too. Good to see, good to see.
  5. Look for a San Shou style of Kickboxing. It is very similar to Muay Thai in the fact that it teaches knees, elbows, leg keeps and throws. The main difference between San Shou and Muay Thai(In my opinion) is tsimply that San Shou does away with the clinch.
  6. UFC 2 was pretty brutal with the Pat Smith / Scott Morris whupping and poor Fred Ettish....poor,poor Fred Ettish.
  7. Money for me please, besides.. the moon landing is nothing but a hoax that was filmed by Stanley Kubrick. I saw some documentary the other day about it, and while not a conspiracy buff, it was very well done and might go a long way as to explaining why Kubrick was so weird.
  8. There are a few instances that seem to have been missed. Training for a career that has danger ingrained in it, such as law enforcement, one needs to train for that street mentality and raw edge that you need in order to be effective in combat. I have been in numerous fights, both in the ring and street, with the majority of them being the street variety, and without a doubt can say that martial arts can make you a better street fighter, and is the probably the main reason I continue to train. Sure I could say that the physical fitness benifits are there, but I could get that from a Tae-Bo class. I am a Correctional Officer and have recently turned thirty. The average age of offenders remains young while I continue to age, and with the gang mentality that we now dealing with offenders take more risks and amount of staff assaults are on the rise, so I belive that I need every advantage nessicary when it comes to self defense situations. I'm not a big guy 5'9", 175lbs and the majority of inmates are physically larger than me, so an equalizer is needed. Considering that staff are unarmed in Canada, one needs to be ready for just about anything. I choose the stlyes I train in based on effectiveness in down and dirty street fighting situations, determined on a want and need basis. I wanted to make sure that when situations came to a head, I was prepared. I wasn't looking for tradition or a philosophy(sp?) because I did'nt need it. I was simply seeking ways to ensure that I come home to my family at the end of the day. Nations spend billions of dollars a year on an armed force to be ready in case some isolated event might happen. I don't see what is wrong with individuals doing the same.
  9. Charlie's Angels.....I have never been able to stomach more than a few minutes of this tripe. I can't even watch it in mute for the "Jiggle Factor"
  10. A lot of the guys competeing aren't the youngest in the world. I started competing in San Shou at age 28. Sure you'll be banging away with some one who's a lot younger than you, but additional training will get you into the shape needed. But if you haven't trained in a while(says you have a martial arts backround, not if you're still training) or in horrible shape, you should take at least a year to get yourself ready.
  11. Umm...history lesson..Lennox Lewis won the Gold medal in Seoul, not Tyson. Lewis pummled Reddick Bowe(who consequently ducked Lewis the entire time he was champion) to take home the gold. Lewis is also a victim of politics and corruption. Lewis dropped Don King as a promoter, and because of the fact that Don King pretty much ran boxing during the Tyson/Holyfield/Bowe era, Lewis was left out in the cold when it came to title fights. He only got his shot at the titles late in his career, and is one of the best "boxing" heavy weights in the division. I think he retired at the right time, mid to late 30's (37 i think). Have you seen an interview with Holyfield lately?? Perfect example of someone who's fought too many wars for too long. While Lennox Lewis was an excellent boxer, ending his career at the top, naming himself as one of the greatest is a wee bit boastful. But I'm not gonna tell him that
  12. That is a crippling submission technique....I know I'd tap! (even funnier is the sig tht goes along with the last post)
  13. NO putting fingers into any orifice?!?!?!?1 I'm shocked that someone would try something like that
  14. The downfall of a long bus trip is that you smell like...well the bus.
  15. You should be able to rent a car in Canada. I'm not sure if the age of majority is 18- or 19 in Ontario (it's 18 here in Alberta). Once again though, you might have trouble crossing the border with a rental car in these post 9/11 times. In the past it was a peice of cake.
  16. Johnny Tapia is a favorite of mine, and I've always enjoyed watching "Irish" Mickey Ward fight, long before the Ward- Gatti series when most jumped on his bandwagon.
  17. Yeah,.....but I'm sure we can all agree that everyone would whup up on Robin.....nice green undies
  18. I like watching Johnny Tapia box. He's had tons of trouble in his life and is a five time world champion. Tapia had lightning fast hands, one of my favorite things to see him throw is a triple left hook BAM, BAM, BAM!!!
  19. I'd say if you're just starting out, then you are overtraining. cut back to three days a week of training to give your body time to repair. alternate your training days, such as Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with training and do some other activity on tuesdays and thursdays if you are looking to lose weight. Tuesdays and thursdays would be perfect for some weight training(lower weight 10-15 reps per set for weight loss and muscular endurance.) Hope you feel better.
  20. Ideal length should be , if you stand on the middle of the rope, the handles should be at armpit height. I prefer a good leather rope. Everlast makes a pretty good rope.
  21. I've trained in a few martial arts and by your answers to Dijita's questions(which were excellent by the way) I also recommend Jeet Kune Do, as you said it may be in your area. Jeet Kune Do offers varied no-nonsense techniques, as well as a good mix of stand up(striking) and ground techniques. And I also recommend that whatever style you decide to study, make sure you check out the facility and class. Sit in for a class , or some schools offer a free class. Take advantage of these and see how the school fits you, how the instructors behave and if something dosen't feel right, don't sign up there.
  22. I knock my wave master over with hooks and crosses.....but maybe yours will do better with sand.
  23. The Flex a Tron Steel Leg stretcher is the one the TKD club has...and C@attle Prodder has found them much cheaper than I did!!!!
  24. I share a facility with a Tae Kwon Do club, and they just got a new stretcher. It is a really simple one, and I've used it a few times and it works very well. I'll find out where he got it from and post back later if you like.
