  1. yeh, obviously its not going to work against everyone. it would depend on how confident you are with the flying kick too. in my hey day (years ago) i have made some decent BBs cower with a series of jumping attacks. having said that, there are some people that i wouldnt even think of flying at. but i would use a gliding kick, (think jumping kick, but distance instead of height) to gain distance on an opponent.
  2. sorry about that people. was being stupid. i think knees are ok in controlled sparing such as ippon and bunkai, but could be dangerous in free sparing.
  3. do these dummies have a permanent "suprised" look on their face?
  4. hehe, join the TKD world, you will hear it all the time. its crap that some people could be so close minded
  5. i think in this case, making contact with a pad using your knuckles constituted a punch
  6. "i feel that my art is the best because" is different to "my art is the best because" which is what somepeople are saying
  7. im saying that at any given time of day, the last post on all subforums is usually by you
  8. sounds like a decent book, might look in to it.

  10. hrm, ive never heard of such a dummy being used for a martial arts partner
  11. i will try not to eat anything with less than an hour before activity, makes me sick otherwise.
  12. hahah, i love that part. karate use to defend plastic metal trophy, no mean nothing.
  13. box set here also. fantastic stuff.
  14. but not every martial artist wants to compete, thats just one aspect of it. just because i think that synchronised swimming is a crap sport and definitely not the BEST sport, doesnt mean that people that are doing it arent going to put their all into it. saying that your martial arts is better than all the rest is an arrogant point of view. if you were to take 10 people of equivalent ranks from 10 different MA, i will guarantee that no 1 person will win against all others.
  15. well, just had an ad on foxtel (oz pay tv) that next month is MA month on NatGeo, and fight science will be on the menu. i will have my 160gb HDD recorder just in time too.
  16. im regular, i check it and post atleast once per day. im not regular as in every hour like some people tho
  17. haha, football season is finishing up here cricket / soccer season is coming
  18. the film is fantastic, one of my fav van dam movies.
  19. thats a good point. it will help out the student having the problem and also assist those students that want to learn how to teach.
  20. i have a BB in ITF TKD, i find it very similar to shotokan, which i am doing now. however, im enjoying the emphasis on close range attacks (hands) rather than the further distance of kicking. wtf tkd, which i have also done, is a lot different from shotokan.

i think a bit more background would help to give advice on this one.
  22. a jump kick is a great first move for sparring. ive done it quite a few times that i have just launched my self and done a flying sidekick and freaked the oponent out. from then on you can fake the launch and get them with a lot of techniques.
  23. in australia there is a camp for adults. its for martial artists of all styles and its very casual. just a chance to train with a bunch of other people. i havent actually been but hope to go this year. its called the portsea MA camp. its in melbourne australia. im sure there would be some everywhere.
  24. youve never done bunkai from a lapel grab, wrist grab or hook punch?
  25. ah k, so when kicking with the right leg you will be spinning anti clockwise? does anyone else call the other one a tornado kick?
