Only 5 times? Heh I read somewhere that it was something like 12 times before it became muscle memory or something like that. Still, Bad english, Not so good teaching skills by the sound of it. Doesnt seem like a very convincing 9th Dan to me. But I wouldnt really know too much about whos who.

General rule of thumb ive heard is that you should cut down your calorie intake by about 500cal. But calorie counting is abit obsessive in my honest opinion, sure it usually works, makes you loose weight. But im sure you can loose weight in a UNHEALTHY way. Sure you could just cut everything out and just eat crackers for a while, that'd make the lb's fall off. But wheres the balence in that? I suggest that you google the ABS diet, Its more focused around eating Sensably, etc, simple things like cutting chocolate out (apart from say like, One a week as a treat). I think it could be intresting if you could take the dicipline you learn in your matrial art study and apply it to this situation Ive been meaning to loose abit of the tubbyness and ive just done stuff like starting Wado-Ryu, Going to the gym a few times a week, walking more, cutting out the high sugar foods etc, and ive been loosing fat. But make sure you dont get into the mind set that "Its all about loosing the weight" for example, If you go to the gym, your not going to loose weight, your actually going to put it on, since the muscle is alot heavyer than the fat I put a few lbs on before I started loosing fat since I started putting more muscle mass on. And more muscle mass is brilliant, Not just for its anastetic uses, but for its strenght and its Calorie burning powers! I think its something along the lines of that muscle burns 3x as much calories than fat, JUST BY SITTING AROUND (Basal Metabolism)

Last I tryed was 25 proper press ups, not really that impressive, But I am working on getting my Bench press past 50kg (110lb) Which I still think is a measly number too, But that is 4 sets of 10 But, I can do 520 crunches in sets of 40 (Though, In a rotation of, 40 Ab, 40, Left Oblique, 40 Right Oblique, Repeat)

McDojo is a term used by some martial artists to describe a martial arts school where image or profit is of a higher importance than technical standards. A McDojo of Korean martial arts is usually called a McDojang. (Sourced Wikipedia) Heh. This isnt my very first experiance of Karate though, I did a few lessons along long time ago when I was still a wee laddy, About 6 or so, I got put off it for a long long time and took up fencing though. The reason I was put off was because the Sensei liked to play very violent dodge ball games to warm up with, then if you made and mistakes put you in something like Shiko Dachi for half an hour. Didnt half hurt your thighs

Well, I turned up at Wado-Ryu last night, And had my free session. I must say, I Enjoyed it alot The first part which is primarly the proper Wado session, They where going though Kihon on a class scale, then Kata at the belt levels, me and my friend just tagged along with the Yellow belts and attempted one of their Kata's, I must say I was compleatly lost, But I suppose that is to be expected on one's first lesson, I know one of the Sempai and a Brownbelt (Their father and son), So the Brownbelt reassured me that the classes will slow down soon and that the Sensei and other Sempai will notice im there and being to teach me. What really impressed me was the secondary lesson to the class, The self defence and extra technique class, where most of the juniors pack their bags and go home, a few of the guys, mainly the Black belts and some Brown and Blue belts stay'ed and we learnt throws where if someone trys to 1. Throw a punch at you 2. Throw a Mawashigeri at you or grabs your wrist Getting thrown and throwing my mate to the ground and having some one on one teaching from the Brownbelt kid was awesome Theres a more advanced class on sunday which I hope to attend, Where most of the decicated guys go, since most of the little kids dont really want to go on a sunday, Brownbelt said it was mainly a cram session of fast technique learning for the dedicated and willing, I hope to show my intrest in going and getting to know the guys better I think I've gots myself a winner here people, These guys know what there doing by the looks of it, Definatly not a McDojo by FAR!

Im abit miffed though, I havnt done one bit of revision this week, and...well I should really =P But Im already qualified for my College course and its a Level 3 NVQ (Haha, The highest level you can do at my age) So I could waltz in with out actually doing any exams. But Its better if i do them well, Then atleast im qualified twice over!

The game I played alot on PS1 was the Dead or Alive games. Though I cant remember if it was the cool kicking and punching, or the fact the females boobs bounced up and down that made me play it more -
I try to incorporate freeweights into all of my upperbody exercise, Usually with Dumbells Chest Flys, Reverse flys, Side bends, all that stuff. Freeweight exercise is great, Develops your target muscle set, along with stabalizing muscles. Also something they like to do in the gym I go to, Is come over and show you the exercise with a twist in its motion, Allowing you to work the muscle sets better and in differnt ways, For example, in the Arm curls Bringing them up in a normal curl, then twisting them round alittle and let them down as a hammer curl. Make sure you emphisise the Negative repatition too! Its very imporant you make more gains doing negatives that the posatives. A negative repatition is when your letting the weight down, they also come in handy when your muscles are beginning to fatigue, If you have a spotter or a hand free, Help yourself on the posative, and put as much resistance as you can while letting the weight down. Just pushes you that little big extra

Medici, Study seems to disagree with your statement in part. It helps Anerobic exercise. In simple science this makes sense, In simple science it makes sense Creatine is a ATP Energy source. So, think of it as a supplimenty energy for your muscles. When doing AEROBIC exersise, Which is exercises that allow you to breath and respire, such as long distance running, jogging, swimming etc. Your body can use Resperation to provide its energy since it has the Oxygen component which it can use along with Glucose in your body... Glucose + Oxygen ---> Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy (ATP) This is producing ATP Energy (the same type as Creatine is). ANAEROBIC Exercise on the other hand uses Resperation without Oxygen, Exercises such as Sprinting, Weight lifting, Anything which uses explosive force and doesnt give you alot of time to breath. This is the equation which you get Lactic acid in your system Glucose ---> Lactic Acid + Energy (ATP) Your still getting ATP Energy from this, but not as much as you would with Aerobic resperation. So go figure that your bodys going to use some that its got stored and avaliable, For example Creatine! So where having creatine is going to make a improvement to all athletes as you said by Medici, To some it can be more benificial than others. A study was done by seeing if Creatine Monohydrate improved the times of some athletes, turns our that the water retention was a hinderance to them since it added weight, skimming seconds of their times. - And theres my retivly crude scientifical way of explaining it

Im reading here, passing sometime, and just wondering... How on earth do you remember all the kata? Oh this syllabus it makes out that to get your 8th Kyu you must know Ippon 1-14, 1st and 2nd basic. So thats like 14 short kata's with two mediumish long ones?! Like okay, I realize that there is only a slight differnce between the Ippon kata but how do you remember each one? and thats just for 8th Kyu!? Does Constant practive engrave it onto your mind? Or do you just constantly study it flash card style or something?
