"Dungeon Warrior Spike"--what is it???
Withers M.A.A. replied to amp's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
I don't know the name but I'm quite sure it is from a Chinese Martial Art. -
The reason you are having trouble is because the people they used to perform the stunts were mostly "open" stylist. They were from the Naska circuit which consists of mixed Martial Arts. Open style refers to a system that has no boundaries and usually does a lot of flashy techniques and aerial kicking etc. So that is prob. why you're having so much trouble. Pete

Controlling power when punching
Withers M.A.A. replied to Big Game's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
For the sake of selfcontrol you should first try to relax. Being tense is cause for hitting too hard. Being relaxed and loose will let you work on speed without hitting your partner too hard. Pete -
If I had any kids I wouldn't allow them to play this game because it is too violent and is just not suited for children. However, for adults the game is fine. Yes it is violent but that is what makes it fun. After all it is just a game.

I think a lot of it depends on your age. If you're 15 and dating someone in the dojo chances are the relationship isn't going to last very long and when you do break up immaturity sets in and that is where the problems arise.

Knitting is so much fun... -
GTA-3 is good but GTA Vice City is even better. If you think this game is violent try playing Max Payne. Nothing like shooting someone with a shotgun in a game at close range and seeing his blood splatter all over the wall behind him.

What do you think is the best "self defense" weapo

But the availablity of a firearm is very good. In fact a few are within an arms reach of me almost at all times. -
How's gun control workin for ya'll ???
Withers M.A.A. replied to Smith amp Wesson's topic in General Chat
Gun control isn't working here because they don't enforce it correct. The law states if you get caught with an illegal firearm or are not licensed for it you spend a year in prison. What happens when you get caught? You get a slap on the wrist and they say don't do it again. That is the problem with gun control Gotta love Maryland where they don't allow concealed carry. You cannot defend yourself with a firearm legally. That must mean they have the lowest handgun crime rate in the country right? Haha that's funny cause Maryland now has the highest handgun crime rate in the country. How could this be when you can't carry one? Case in point- Gun control isn't working as it is intended. -
It all depends on what type of car you're talking about. If it is Mustangs then go to Www.Corral.net

When I had my Cobra I was driving home from the shooting range. Someone cut into my lane so I beeped at him and then sped off. Well about a minute later this maniac caught up to me and tried to ram his car into mine. He cut into my lane I slammed no the brakes and he almost hit the guard rail next to me. I slowed down as he was ahead of me. He then stopped. I tried driving normally and then when I got next to him he tried it again. So I stopped. He was about 15 feet ahead of me and he stopped. I drew my gun from my holster. When I tried creeping by him he got out of his car wanting me to fight him. Little did he know he had a handgun pointed at him. (I had it out of his site) I sped off as he tried tokick my car. He chased me but having a 500 hp. Mustang Cobra paid off as he never caught me. Talk about being nervous...

I've seen a few things here and there on some talent shows on TV. Hopefully some of the torn. will get some TV air time again. It is great exposure for the Martial Arts. Pete

It all depends on what circuit you are planning on competing in. If it is an Open Torn. then you don't need to qualify. They are open to all systems of Martial Arts. Check out Krane.org for more info. good luck, Pete

Welcome to the forums... How long have you been training? Pete

Work on drills that require sparring-like techniques. Have them put the sparring gear on and have one side throw a backfist followed by a reverse punch. The other side should do some type of perry or block and then counter. Combos like this build up confidence and help people build combinations in fighting. Pete

If you have a stationary bag such as a Wavemaster you can move around it then use the base for leverage and pop up off it and do a jump round kick. Almost as if kicking someone with a front kick and using their stomach for leverage before hitting them with a round kick.

Most traditional Japanese Martial Arts will teach the bo and the sai. Kabudo refers to the Japanese weapon styles.

Have you had any luck finding torns?

I was wondering what all this knitting stuff was. It said Knittingforums.com. I was gonna say. Then I remembered today was April Fools. HEHE

Years ago I dated someone for 2 years from my dojo. It wasn't a bad experience. When we had fights it made training a little akward but nothing major. when we broke up we continued to train at the same school and we were both adults about things so there wasn't any problems.
