Yeah, I was sparring my friend. SHe took a step back, fell and broke her ankle. She's been back on and off since then, but not the same.

I'm starting to lift tomorrow. There's different ways to lift for different types of things. You can lift for speed and strength or u can lift for bulk. It all depends on how you lift, your regimen and what you're eating

One thing that the traditional arts, that you all seem to hate, is tolerance and patience. A lot of the people on here need to learn that. you need to understand that these kids are bettering themselves and that sometimes it takes a little longer for them to learn the stuff. Same thing goes with lower belts, you can't just expect them to jump in and know everything. Belts give people short-term goals. I've written an essay for school about this. If you can't see that 3 months down the road you won't have proof of your growth and achievement, why would you wait around 5 years to finally get a black belt. Some of the best teachers I've had and best students in our state are black belts and under 18. Kevin Kowalczik is ranked #7 in the nation in NASKA. He's 16 and one of the best instructors we've got. Non-black belt instructors are also good because they are easier for the lower belts to connect with. They're striving for the same thing, the ultimate black belt. And you have to work your butt off to get that. And point sparring being for wuss'? I haven't been to a tourney yet where someone didn't at least get knocked out. We had a small (300 competitors) where there were 2 broken legs and a dislocated shoulder (me) all in one day. And this is a semi-contact tourney. Broken noses are an every tourney occasion.

For our demos we use stuff from the Matrix and Mortal Kombat soundtracks. Some dance songs too. I use hard rock to practice and play around with.

Blood Sport's good. I liked The Quest better though. That was the first Van Damme movie I've seen. ~much luv in the ghetto!~

I think I'd survive from a nontrained person, but not without getting cut up. Unless we were grappling and they pulled it out w/out me looking, then I'd be screwed

We have: white (10th gup) yellow (9th gup) orange 8th orange w/green stripe 7th green 6th green w/red stripe 5th green w/2red stripes 4th red 3rd red w/1 blue stripe 2nd red w/2 blue stripes 1st (me!) red w/3blue stripes 1st, 1st pretest for black red w/4blue stripes 2nd, 2nd pretest for black It is possible though, to skip red 4 and go straight for you blackbelt test since all you're doing is perfecting your motions for 5 months at that level.

Yeah, my instructor knows about some of it. He tries to unbiasedly help council sometimes too.

I have it and like it. But it does talk a little too much about NHB and kickboxing

We do have belt skippings in my school, but it always comes with prior knowledge. My dad tested straight for orange belt but he was an amazing white belt and had 3 red belts for sons, so he's been around the school. Other people that double test have been in other styles. I tested sorta early for yellow belt cuz my brothers were both greens and my friends were red so I'd been around too.

I wanna learn some of those cool Chinese weapons that I know nothing about.

Well, here's the update from last night.... Dude A and Dudette A sat in Dudette A's car for 2 1/2 hours talking about stuff with Dude B. Dude B still doesn't know who really knows what he did. He changed the story from what Dudette C says. Dudette A cries on Dude A's shoulder and he feels horrible. She's practically his sister and he is very protective of her. Meanwhile.... Dudette D is mad over petty things, like the fact that she didn't find out about this stuff until yesterday. She went to prom with Dude A and behind his back was talking that she didn't really want to be there with him and that she only went cuz she felt bad for him. THis info finds it's way back to him and he's very unhappy . Dude A and Dudette D have not talked at all today, even though they share a locker with Dude B. OH yeah, Dudette E, who Dude A likes, recently got a b/f because she thought Dude A didn't like her.

haha. I just can't to seem to get away from them karate girls though. they're something different

We learn both knife and gun defense at 4th gup. At black belt they teach you more, like different styles of attack. At 1st gup you learn stick defense. All belts learn nunhaku vs. swords.
