  1. Way to go Kez, Keep it up!
  2. Good luck Koryu, What do you have to do for your sandan?
  3. Odd question... Anyway, have you found out if you passed yet?
  4. Use the 6 P's Persistent Practice Prevents Pitifully Poor Performance Keep practicing and refining your technique. Ask your sensei what you need to work on specifcally for your grading and then go and do it. Good luck!
  5. Just looked at the website. It's a bit outdated isn't it? Looks like it hasn't been updated in a year or 2 (Still has stuff for 2004 advertised)
  6. One of my instructors once said it's not the belt that's important, it's who you are that counts. I also heard a story a while ago about a yellow belt sparring a brown belt, the brown belt thought he would have some fun and ended up getting his butt kicked on the floor. Looking a bit confused the yellow belt pointed at his belt saying "This didn't hit you, I did". Never judge a book by it's cover eh?
  7. Same here. What did your sensei say about the whole thing?
  8. Brandon's idea is a good one, I'll have to remember that
  9. One of the best places to find seminars is in your local martial arts magazine. Blitz is published over there isn't it? Usually there's a calendar with all the events on. That's a good place to start and then getting onto people's mailing lists after attending their seminars.
  10. My CDT (craft design technology) teacher back in high school used to say it, but Pitifully was substituted for a more shall we say "colourful" word starting with the letter P
  11. Hmmm, same day emails are a bit of a low blow really.
  12. I must admit it was a terrible thing, but the jokes that I got in my email and by text were pretty damn funny. I'm a terrible person!
  13. Not really, the judging was very even from what I saw of it. The kumite judging was a little off though. Some really nice techniques controlled and well placed weren't being scored and the fighters were getting frustrated and ended up just smacking the hell out of each other just to get a point as that was all the judges seemed to give points for. A very well run and organised tournament overall IMO. I'll definitely be going to the next one. The knee is okay now. Just have to be careful not to put too much strain on it until it's fully healed. I'll be back to 100% in a few weeks.
  14. Ok. I'll be in the other threads then. Catch me if you can! ha! ha! ha!
  15. I'll deny everything! Neh! neh! neh! neh! neh! neh!
  16. Cheers Kirsty. We were up against a few England squad members so at least we lost to some good karateka.
  17. A belated congrats on your forum black belt KK. Sorry it's a bit late, please have mercy on me! LOL!!!!
  18. I know it's a bit late but thought I should add this one on. Me and my students competed in our of our 2nd competition a couple of weeks ago in Reading, England. I didn't get any trophies but I did twist my knee in the 2nd round of kata and therefore lost the round. 4 hours later I had a go at hopping around in the kumite scoring just 2 points whilst my opponent scored 6. It wasn't all doom and gloom though, my girlfriend got 3rd place in the women's kata and kumite. She was the only one out of all of us who got some trophies that day so we're all very proud of her. Next tournament is the BIKO Open on October 1st in Hertfordshire. Hope to get some trophies there this time!
  19. His family was offered a state funeral for Steve. Just shows how much he meant to the Australian people as well as the rest of the world. It was horrible to hear about the bunch of mutilated sting rays being found on the shores of ozzy beaches. It totally went against everything Irwin stood for.
  20. Good luck with the house moving. I know how stressful it can be. See you on the forums again soon!
  21. C'mon KK, you terrify all of us! Especially me!
  22. I love the Dominos stuffed base! YUM!
  23. That's a new one. The "Superfoot" name of Bill's came from a hot dog stand after a competition where he knocked out a guy with his fast kick.
