  2. all you can do really is train harder, try to find a different mind set perhaps, it helps some people.
  3. great sites, i posted something prior but it didnt make sense so im stuck with this, lol. sorry
  4. That is only true in sayings. Realistically that is very wrong. your mind can tell your body whatever it wants, but it your body is incapable of doing it, then it will never happen. Thats true an i totaly agree with your statement, however your mind properly prepares your body for what it needs. Also your mind lets your body have an easier time with the situation by being calm and not tring to use all your energy into a fury of attacks. So i think the outcome on the fight leans more heavily on the mental aspect more so than the physical, which only caries out what it has been programmed to(with exceptions of course).
  5. Never tried it before actually. Thanks for the idea, ill do it later and post the result.
  6. pretty much
  7. if the judges find your technique was uncontolled and it was violent then u get penalized(such as punching a person in the face full force, when you could have pulled it), but its not like that in NS
  8. o that is a long time
  9. Yea same, hope its not a bad thing....
  10. Sounds like almost no one has any faith in shotokan......i took muay thai for 1 1/2 years, i find shotokan much more effective, also even though shotokan is not full contact you dont really need it if know what your doing. Plus muay thai is SO limiting, it makes you too human. Karate(shotokan) can make you better than you are, and it doesnt really on if your 20 pounds over this guy your going to win, shotokan you can only limit yourself not statistics. But there are ALOT of shotokan mcdojos, so becareful anyway.
  11. This is a correct statement. Unless my memory fails me, kenpo means "law of the fist". There really is no true style of kenpo. It is more of a collection of laws and principles based on our physical world. People have take these principles and created techniques to teach them and thus, various styles of kenpo were born. But yes, kenpo is indeed a melting pot of many martial arts. I have a 1st dan in Nick Cerio's Kenpo. I met Professor Cerio many times and he was a phenominal martial artist. It is a shame that he passed away. sorry to hear that.......

  19. yea seems like he likes using his advantages. Exploit his disadvantages, when you spar make mental notes. Also with him getting in your face let him come into your techniques, make him adapt to you not the other way around.
  20. no prob, i can help with some other stuff on the same situation so just ask anytime.
  21. Yea, remember though. She knows what you want and what you are going to do, dont do what she expects. She also knows that you still like her, becareful with that also. Watch her body language to guage your situation, and most importantly atually get yourself confident in everything move you do.
  22. ok maybe it didnt work for me because i dont practice the same art, and i have no knowledge of the techniques.
  23. Welcome
