  1. A split kick break, or a 540 break, or a back flip kick break (I donno what it's called).
  2. OMG!!! That was funny. I can just see them all running around and freaking out after getting wet LOL.
  3. LOL. I haven't heard that in so long. I love that. Ever since I heard Tae kwon Leap, my "saying" is "Boot to the head" LOL.
  4. Me too. I also hate it when people have the "X" thing going on at the back of their belts. I was taught to wrap my belt so it looked like "one" in the back. So it peeves me off when it's not even or the back isn't even. Oops. This isn't the "peeves" thread LOL.
  5. I pulled a hamstring before my green belt test (in TKD), but I still tested with two weeks off. Maybe three (don't remember now). I went through with it in pain. I also tested after surgery for my 5th gup in Tang soo do. I passed. Maybe I'm crazy, but I passed. Gotta love martial arts
  6. This is a spin-off from the pet peeves thread. What is your weirdest fetish? Well, I shouldn't say weird. It wouldn't be weird to you LOL. It can be anything from martial arts to life. A couple of mine are: deodorant. I always apply it, at least, twice a day (I don't mind sweating, but BO is bad LOL). My (one of them) martial arts fetish is: I don't like my belt to turn (like the knot part in the back) or to come loose. I'm constantly making sure its tied. I'll name others later. Keep it clean folks. I know some people have "fantacy" fetishes but I don't really want to hear that, thanks (plus kids frequent this forum).
  7. I was in a similar situation, kataman. I was 8 months into my training in Tang Soo Do when I had to use self defense. I also came out on top without a scratch
  8. Thanks I'll let you know what she thinks of it.
  9. Yes, for me it is, but ....... I guess broccoli would be a good milk subsitute (for calcium)?
  10. Yea, basically. Or the "foot tag" thing. We don't train for those. Except one big tourny that the U.S.T.U. has every year (in ohio). That's the only one we attend regularly.
  11. Getting my 4th gup was the first. I missed my 4th gup test twice. This time I got it After doing so, I was invited to be on the demo team. I always wanted to do something like that. I was siked! Today, I was hired at my dojang. This is also something I always wanted to do (work at a martial arts school). I'm starting to think that my 4th gup gave me good luck
  12. I still eat pizza! No way I can give that up LOL. And I don't drink soda much anyway, so that wasn't a problem. I hate chicken, and I still eat fish (tuna, salmon, blue fish, ect). I'm not really a sweet eater, except when "that time of the month" hits ..... gggrrrrrrr. I try to control that, though.
  13. Can I ask where this Aikido school is? If it's where I think it is, then don't go there LOL.
  14. My school uses rebreakable boards for testing (except for black belt tests). To me, they are a little harder to break than a real board. But I don't mind I like breaking real wood. But like someone said earlier, the rebreakable ones are cheaper in the long run, and they save on trash and storage space.
  15. Same here. When I did Tang Soo Do, I was guilty of a little TKD bashing. But I was also proved wrong about how ineffective it is. At least, how I am taught, it IS effective, and we (most of us at my dojang) don't do it for sport.
  16. Insteresting topic I don't even kihap (most of the time) .......... strange as that is, because I do MA. But I feel like a dork everytime I do LOL. And when I do, it's more of a sharp "hey" LOL.
