  1. Yo cant be serious.... Unless you talking about that dim mak stuff.
  2. Kendo is great for coordination, distance fighting, stamina, and just over all fun(as I hear from my friend). Kendo is pretty insane, ive attempted to attack my friend before...hes a monster with that bambo stick.
  3. PUMP UP MUSIC Inflames-Jesters dance Nas- got yourself a gun Darude-sandstorm Sash-equador KICKING SOMEONES * MUSIC Paul Oakenfold-dread rock Final Fantasy 10-otherworld
  4. Get a friend and spar full contact or go with MMA rules(take downs, clinches, etc) Or Cross train, play around with other styles.
  5. I dont respect any martial artist.I dont care what kyu or dan they are.If you can kick my *,i'll respect you. Ive been respecting a lot of people lately
  6. I did track and use to breakdance during freshman year. Breaking takes more muscle and coordination than you think.
  7. 2 days a week, even though classes are open 3. I make up for the third day by training for 2 hours on saturdays.
  8. Oh snap,im only like 10 minutes away from you. But I dont train in any japanese systems. And im also just a kid...give me a few more months and i can drive :]

  11. Hey all, just want to see how some of you plan your weekly schedules. Days you like to workout/exercise(how long, the exercises, etc.) and the days you have martial arts training.
  12. Tekken 3-5 Hands down. Its funny though...T4 was created to be more ''realistic'' but everyone hated it.
  13. Who can forget when Lois took that karate. That has to be the best MA episode of Family Guy. Anyoen see sundays new episode btw?
  14. I train to be faster, stronger, and more skillful than my opponents.Yet I still get hurt from new guys at my dojo every now and then. The life of a martial artist is like a circle, you win some and you lose some. Even Mas Oyama lost to Rikidozan.
  15. must be some mixed arts put together by some guy. Ive seen schools that have said things like jukempo-do (judo/chinese kempo).
  16. Movies give such a bad impression on martial artists xD. People assume black belts are unstoppable juggernauts because they are always watching those action movies where the main character is some black belt in whatever style. People who believe all BB's are a monster just havent experienced martial arts for themselves.
  17. Remember, when you are fighting a group of agressors, the point isnt to win,but to get away safely.Movies just give a bad impression when you tell people ''I ran'' instead of fighting. Do your best to avoid, and find an opening where you can start running.
  18. Muay Thai is a traditional art.its been around for thousands(around the 1500's) of years.Whats that make it? not as effective as MMA? Ive seen thai boxers beat MMAists. Ive seen MMAsts beat thai boxers. And ive seen other traditional MAists beat other MMAists, vise versa.
  19. ''What does sparring have to do with your eysight?'' ''On the off chance that one time you'll find yourself in a situation where it won't be "play" and you'll need to see as much as possible at all times. '' ''A split second is more than can be spared when it comes to a live situation time. If a strike is fast and well aimed and you miss it's initiation, and then blink, you will likely find it quite close when your eyes open. In the case of an all out flinch, getting hit will be likely.'' So...what then? scotch tape your eyes open? If you get hit,you get hit..nobodies perfect.
  20. I agree. Bruce Lee was an exceptional fighter...back in the 70's.But I mean if someone attacked him if he was alive today, hell yeah he would rip out their hearts and show it to them before they died. MA has evolved, nowadays you see BJJers and UFC fighters.Bruce has a very high or very low chance of winning against someone like tito Ortiz or Silva. Anyways back to topic.. I honeslty dont have an answer to this. SS,you said you have seen trained fighters lose to untrained ones..and that is perfectly natural. This is life, not some movie....anyone can lose or win a fight no matter how much experience. In ways everyone has advantages and disadvantages, people who lose the fight let their disadvantages get taken over. This is just IMO.
  21. 1)uh...ok? thats what sparring is for ;] 2)you make it sound like hes fighting goku from dragon ball.Oh no! hes teleported behind me! blinking takes less then a second to close and re-open,im sure the guy wont go anywhere that fast.
  22. I myself do not take JJJ,but I train in clinch fighting. Clinch fighting is EXTREMELY useful for the streets, ive taken on MT guys before and got into the clinch very often. If your even a decent clincher fighting an unexperienced opponent...you could end the fight right there.
  23. A lot of martial art actors have been previously stuntmen, which gave them a boost in their acting career to start. Like Jackie Chan and Bruce Li(most known of all B.Lee imitators)
