  1. Treebranch, what you say is true but most people abuse their power when they feel insulted,MA is mainly meant for self-defense...not you-call-me-stupid-ill-kick-your-*..i think sometimes MA can get people over confident in themselves..also some people can get angry easily.
  2. omg Shorin ryu sensei, you dont know how much I wanted to do this...but sadly im a teenager and cant afford to go places...which is why im such a loser going around my school looking for people who were serious in MA-.- hit me back with this in like.....3 years xD
  3. Books of teaching martial arts are just useless. A simple book with 10 chapters can never teach you techniques as if you took that art for 10 years. Without an instructor, you may have many errors into your form or the way you strike.Your also not as motivated as you would be when your inside of a dojo. And sparring would most likely be a MUST,to work on your sparring you would need another partner, books provide you with info, but sadly not a sparring partner.
  4. wow,the distance from the ankle and groin is pretty high...haha im just joking. Atleast it was more effective....if you had tripped him he would have gotten back up and gone after you...but since you had him in the groin....guess it was a 1 hit KO
  5. i rarely get those...but then again ive only been in highschool fights and not been attacked by any thugs or gangsters xD Normally I dont really get suprised by who im fighting or how many number of guys there are.I guess because the way I train in a regular basis is similar to real fights...with the exception of some focus mitts.
  6. woah..all those descriptions on that site seem like moves from a video game xD
  7. If you think about it. Who would you rather be more afraid to fight? your instructor..or a poorly or rather not trained fighter who just is a bit bigger? Strength isnt always the main thing you need in a street fight, ive gone against BJJers around 120 lbs tap me out atleast 5 times within 2 minutes..
  8. oh yes...i walk around with a pair of nunchakus every consecutive day waiting for someone to attack me.Only weapon I probably carry around would be my keys.I should put them between my fingers and go wolverine on anyones *!
  9. Some good technos I listen to would be.. 1.Vortex-Airhead 2.Sash!-Ecuador 3.Paul Oakenfold-Dread Rock <-REALLY gets you into the whole bad guy fighting mode 4.DDR-look to the sky <-more of a warm up song for me 5.Darude-Calm before the storm Just a small list that i normally would listen to
  10. trademark move? sounds like a movie. Ryu-Hadouken! Scorpion-Get over here! Wolverine-TA TA TA TEPERAH!
  11. Ultimate Art-A simple myth Fights are unrpedictable, its not likely things will happen on what you train at your dojo. In my opinion,it depends on the person and their dedication to MA that really counts.Ive seen some A class tkd fighters KO thai boxers and shoot wrestlers.
  12. Be patient, not everyone here knows answers to everything.. CDT is non-deadly self defense training, its not exactly an art, more of a simple ''how to handle yourself in a dangerous situation'' fighting tactics.
  13. Yes,its true Bruce never did compete in tounrments because of tis restrictions. On acocunt his favorite strike would be spear hand attacks to eyes or throat. Only a few people have seen Bruce fight, and i have seen clips of his sparring and training. He is a powerful and light footed MAist, but i doubt he would even still compete in the UFC,they still have rules.
  14. get out of his way..simple as that.He cant run fast when his arms are flailing around, its all in the footwork.Just wait until he wears out, then give him hell.
  15. 1.Try to stay away from fights 2.depends on the person and their training.. 3.use a weapon...any inanimate object will do.
  16. The stright blast is like a 4 by 4 keeping the distance between you and the opponent. When throwing the series of punches, you will be able to keep him from tackling or clinching to you. Some tough guys maybe able to run towards you while doin the SB,but you to will also move back. This move is not a KO move, jsut another distraction for a greater hit.i mean...how open will the opponent be when his arms are flailing in the air?
  17. I remember seeing a korean movie about highschool kids training for a TKD tournement. They trained on the beach water and kicked, guess that helps for balance since the waves looked pretty strong in that movie.
  18. ive heard rumors that jackie chan only learned MA for movies. He maybe slick like a monkey going for a golden banana, but if you have seen jackies ''Another Fist of Fury'',you would see hes not as light footed as bruce was. Also jackie may lack in some other abilities.
  19. But you forget, you will need strength and speed to support your skills. I honestly dont know the answer since i have no clue how fast ed parker is.I do know that bruce lee was a speedy and light footed MAist..dont know to much about ed parker...and i cant make a decision unless i knew some stuff about him.Time to research xD
  20. I think you would have to be with a school in order to compete in tournements(correct me if im wrong). And i doubt they would allow you to use your own style, since tournements are one styled compeitions like karate, tkd, kick boxing etc...unless of course if it was some underground fight. Normally Creating your own style would be called a Mix Martial Art...but creating your own stances is a new one..
  21. ah,i wouldnt know to much about judo...and i guess my thought on karat was wrong, never knew it was suggested.
  22. gah kip up....havent done those since my dancing days, haha
  23. I dont think I should bother to watch.. Lemme guess...two girly men snesly whacking eachother with feathered pillows? yeah....already saw it at another site..
  24. Hm...just think of this... When you spar someone and they are lower rank than you..do you feel comfy? or when you spar against a higher ranked fighter, are you scared just because they are higher? Our mind is like a ball..it gets tossed around a lot controlling our emotions and mind. I dont know if this would help to much-.- Ive always been way to self-effiecient...i wouldnt care if i was fighting a 200lbs built black man named Du-Rag BTW,always remember this ''in reality, everyone gets hit'',so dont be to suprised if you get hit a couple of times..all that matters is that you walk away as the victor.
