Thats ok. Thats álot of styles you have praktised. How long have you studied?
-
I may be wrong but, I dont think we disagree with eachother anyway. What I actually mean is that the forms are allimportant for learning how to fight. Because you learn the movements and how to use them, BUT. Do you think its realistic to use an actual form in a fight?
-
The forms are meant as an imitation of a fight yes. But the forms in its self, arent very realistic. Fighting in the way classic forms are build up, is very unrealistic in a streetfight.

what tricks can YOU do?
dippedappe replied to The_Devil_In_Disguise's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Check out https://www.trickstutorials.com He explains how to do many different tricks and has video clips to illustrate. Hey thanks bro. Thats exactly what I needed. -
All the traditional forms from the classical systems. They dont really prepare you for fight, but they will give you a very good base for martial arts. In my school we dont really have any tradition of that sort. We do bow before we enter or leave the room we train in. The way we greet our opponent, you know with the hands and all that. When the training ends we clap to show our graditude for the training. But thats it.

Top 10 Self Defense Martial Arts
dippedappe replied to aznkarateboi's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
It was meant as a joke(I dont really care if its funny or not, anymore). What I would really do(if I have no other choice but to fight) is propebly to wait til he strikes with the knife. Then try a downwards parrie, grab the knifehand, give him a backfist in the nose, and then make him drop the knife by kicking his arm with my kne. Then beat him down. If hes down, call the cops or run. If I cant beat him...Then I will push or kick him away, and then RUN. -

Im very interested in acrobatic, as well as other cool martial arts moves. I already know some acrobatic moves. But I would like to know more. If you all(all who knows them) could show clips with some acrobatic and athletic MA moves, and with a step-by-step(just do it so detailed as you want it to be) explanation on how you do it. I thought it would be a good idea, to make a post like this. So that martial artist(that were interested in knowing how) could look at this and then get inspiration and knowledge on how to do these moves. I will start. Heres one of my favorites. Its called "Butterfly kick". What you do is - Move your left leg behind your right(body facing forward) so you have crossed your legs. Then turn around and face the way your left shoulder faced before. Do this while swinging your upper body downward and then up again so it follows the bodies rhythm. Then lift right leg, swing it higher in line with your back. Then spin around so you almost ends up facing the way you started facing. Do this in one quick flowing movement so that you almost throw your self up in the air. While in the air, keep swinging right aswell as left leg higher. After that, land on right leg. When right leg hits the floor, your left will follow down, going behind the right, into the cross stance again. Then turn around(do the upperbody bow again while turning) into normal stance. Thats it. Thats how I do it. Okay that was much more detailed than I wanted it to be, sorry. I couldnt find a demonstration clip, sorry. Hope you will like the idea and help build up this post with moves.

Yes there is. Theres Kung Fu Toa(Trained in it for about three months. Cant trust them. Its not Kung Fu. Its many kinds of martial arts mixed together, coming from Iraq). Theres Wing Tsun(sadistic with an idiot of a teacher). Tai Chi Quan(maybe someday, but right now its shaolin). Karate(noway ever). Tai Kwan Do(even worse than Karate. I would rather be without MA than to study these two styles. No offense meant to the fellows here who trains these styles). Thats it. So theres unfortunately not a style I like where I live. Its not my sifu I train with. Its one of his students. IMO=????what?

Thats where my Not-so-social teacher looses. Only the teacher may help the students. And he has a great habit of not being able to teach us after the class. We never get to the more advanced tecnikes, like dan dau and alike(also nonweapons ofcause). Its because he thinks we arent good enough(and that includes those that has studied for three and four years), only his two faverete students has learned that. And those are just some of the anoying things about him. also, the newcomers(and they breeds like rabits) that are not so serious, pulls us back. I have asked him if we could get a class for advanced students(like almost all other schools have) but nooo.

Who's your favorite all-time Fighter??
dippedappe replied to G Money Slick's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
Thats just too silly to comment on. Lee was just a man. There is always someone better. Always. He was one of the greats for sure, but not undefeatable. Your buying into commercial crap, and not doing your homework. He did study with Parker, and Parkers blackbelts did beat him on a consistent basis. There is documented proof, and I heard it from a man that HAS sparred Lee, and watched him get beaten. Just because it didnt happen in a tournament that the news media was subjected to, doesnt mean it didnt happen. True. But theres another factor to consetter. Was it before Bruce had the back injury or after? -
Oh wait...I didnt mean drunken monkeys reply but min. Because I wrote something that didnt match drunken monkeys settence.
