I am pretty much doing homework and I have a hockey coaching clinic tonight and Saturday Cheers to the weekend , Nicolas

Hi everyone, I am new to karate, and whenever I do the seiza position, it hurts my legs, like I am squishing them so I can not be in this position for a long time. Has this ever happened to anyone? How can I help it? Thanks in advance, Nicolas

Learning alot to learning nothing at all

I guess you can kind of compare it to school. After you are done high school, like your black belt, you just start learning, then when you are at university and/or college, you start getting your dans..... if that makes sense lol Nicolas -
Yeah, the sterotype would be that women are very good becuase they arent strong and only men shoudl be MA. I totally disagree, and I am sure lots of female MA are alot better than most male MA becuase they have to work that much harder to get past the sterotype.... Nicolas

Yeah you have to really think about if you want to join martial arts. I have been thinking fro a couple months and I am almost sure...90% T.V. can show false images of MA, but to tell you the truth, that is not what made me think of doing it becuase I am not that much of a athlete so I didn;t htink i would ever be able to do this stuff. Dont get me wrong, it looks really cool, but what made me decided to start karate was my cousin. He and his friend where spparing and he told me that it takes lots of practice and stuff to become good, you won't just learn to be a black belt in like 3 weeks. I know this might sound crazy, but oh well, Nicolas

Well if you don't have any equipment, you can just keep doing situps, pushups (there are lots of variations). You might also look into going to a gym and practice there. I am sure there will be plenty of people willing to help you there

Yes if you could clarify a bit more you might get alot more help...

I guess it is just up to you. Do you think you will have enough time? Have enough energy? It is your person preference.... -
I am hoping to train at least 3 times a week.....
-
Yeah congrads to you and your teacher, he must be very happy...

I dont think there is an actual time set to meditae or how to do it. Just relax, maybe go check the intern arts for more information... You can mediate whenever you want (i think) and experiment diffrent posistions, different periods of time, breathing techniques..... all your personal preference Nicolas

Only broken bone I have ever had, but it didnt hurt that much.... oh well Actually my most painful injusry might also be when a dog bit my nose, I have to get stitches lol or when a metal staircase fell on my head, lots of blood and stithes but i can not remember the pain becuase I was so young..

If your only a foot away and you are going to spend 200$, thats alot of money. Can you ise it for other parts of your body, maybe get a couple friends to pitch in and you can all use it.....

I have used carb gels when I did weights, then three classes in the same evening. You have to make sure you hydrate adequately to allow the stuff to enter you system. thanks
