  1. Dude, if I didn't have to pay bills, I would train 8 hours a day in the USA.
  2. https://www.fairtex.com has some good products. I'd get the thai-pads, shin guard and boxing gloves from them. As far as bag gloves, wraps and other equipment, go to a local sport store and buy cheap stuff. The fairtex equipment lasts a long time. Good luck!
  3. 2003 Mini Cooper. It's Chili Red, it has a checkered roof and checkered bonnet stripes (that's racing stripes for you uncultured folk).
  4. I don't see any real problem with crosstraining right from the beginning. I think you'll grow your skills faster that way, as each different teacher and art will help you to understand the others.
  5. Yes, Muay Thai will teach you how to kick very, very hard. You'll also learn how to strike while in a clinch, how to control the opponent in a clinch, how to knee and elbow as well as boxing style punches. You really can't go wrong with Muay Thai, it will blend well with your grappling arts.
  6. Dillman's KO's are about sending ki into a person. His student "the human stun gun" claims to be able to do this without even touching his victims. However, his tricks didn't work on the chubby reporter lady that interviewed him.. or the judo club down the street..
  7. How about a person certified to teach such nonsense under Dillman? http://tkdtutor.com/07Defense/Targets/PressurePoints.htm Look for the Dim Mak interview link for the Fox News article.
  8. Jerry.. there are no ninjas today. And no, their training wasn't all that unique to the area, just to Americans who don't know any better. Then again.. is that a ninja under my desk. What's he doing?! He's flipping OUT!!!.......ARRGHHH
  9. In fending off armed robbers. http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2004/10/1/nation/9023628&sec= The 28-year-old Muay Thai coach John Yong fought off the four Indonesian robbers when they broke into his home at 2.30am yesterday.
  10. http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2004/10/1/nation/9023628&sec= This is a story about a Muay Thai coach that successfully chased off 4 bad men in his house.
  11. I'm not sure what to say, want to go to the pub and talk about it over a few brews?
  12. Ask him when you get to hit pads. Ask him if you get to spar in a relatively short amount of time. Ask him if the sparring is point/hit or if it's continuous.
  13. Dang, I voted for Game of Death before seeing the last option. The warrior's journey was pretty good, I only liked the actual Bruce Lee scenes from Game of Death. In Warriors Journey, the fights with Inosanto in them are pretty damn good. I might be biased.
  14. Then attack the arm, when he moves it, shoot in.
  15. I think it's rather ironic that Christians are telling other Christians not to do martial arts because it's violent..... considered the Crusades, WWII, Spanish Inquisition and several thousand years of witch burnings that continue to the day.
  16. You're only in forth grade?! Get back to school, kid!!
  17. I don't think Kung Fu is mentioned in the bible, nor Karate or Silat, unless I'm mistaken. Personally, I don't see any conflict between Christianity and Martial Arts. I can only speak from personal experience from when I used to be Christian....Oh wait, maybe the martial arts are bad for Christianity.
  18. The only thing a person needs to do to start his own "style" of martial arts is a cool name. The reality is that everyone has their own "style", their own way of actually trying to fight. Two Thaiboxers, for example, will use different strategies and favor different types of techniques, and may even have different ways of doing the techniques. If I started a school, I'd probably think of a cool name and start my own "style". But I would let it be known where my system came from and who the parents are. The name would be to draw in customers, but I'd want to let it be known what I actually teach for the more informed martial artists to know what my "system" is about.
  19. I think it would be awesome if he called it the Bakamono Kata !
  20. 3 to 6 times a week, when I can. But, I often travel on my job and work long hours when travelling.
  21. MartialMan, perhaps you can try to test out his one-touch KO's as well.
  22. https://www.psdtc.com There should be info about Rossi Kun Tao there, although it's hard to find much at the website.
  23. Bakamono
  24. This topic leaves me with splinters in my side.
  25. I don't know how many schools are out there. My instructor was Ron Kosokowski. Rossi is the guy that brought Kun Tao to the USA from Indonesia. He had a school, so I am thinking other students of his might have started their own schools, besides Ron.
