  5. Aikido can get pretty rough, I mean if the aikidoka does a technique, he can easily break someone arms or fingers or throw them in a bad situation and when they are on the ground you could jump on them or kick them, but Aikido teaches self control and peace, not many other styles teach this.

  16. He does the aikido hand control's (ikkyo, nikkyo, sankyo etc) but when he uses them he usually does them until there hand or arm breaks lol.
  17. Judo is a sport, you cant compare them there throws are differnt, u might see some the same because of there jujitsu background. But they are very different. Aikido is about timing and distance where else judo you go in and grab the opponet and do your stuff, u might get stabbed this way.
  18. What I'm saying is that how is it possible that a twelve year old have the ability both physically and intellectually to be yudansha? Suppose it takes five years to reach shodan in a typical school training two or three times a week. The student had to have started when they were seven years old. There are exceptions, but most seven year olds I've worked with have not been competent enough to learn Karate at the same pace as someone in their teens. The style might be made for kids to make it fun.
  19. I think there will be more older people training because Aikido is a bit hard to teach the little ones but dont get me wrong you can teach them. Do you want to do Aikido for the techniques or the weapons or a bit of both?
  20. well yes actually, I dont see much on the news about gun atacks much but I dont look at the statistics. People can still be apart of rifle and shooting clubs but you just cant own a gun unless your got some sort of permit.
  21. Anyone use Linux .... I dont .
  22. I own a old Packard Bell and if I buy a new one I would like to make one myself.
  23. The weapons used are the Bokken (wooden sword), Jo (wooden staff), Tanto (wooden knife). It really depends on what style you do I think (not sure) that Iwama style does alot of weapons where Aiki-Kai does a little to medium training, it also depends which instructer you have. I have been doing it for a few months and I have done the bokken alot more then any of the other weapons. I reccomend you watch a few classes before you join.
