I believe in the future Kickboxing will become alot more popular as modern culture has seemed to wreck the image of karate and taekwondo, this is the case where I live, many from my school(secondary school) say a karateka would not stand a chance against a kickboxer, well I dont think they have ever seen a Kyokushin fighter. -
Well are you happy?

dolph lundgrund: He was European Heavyweight Karate Champion in 1980-81 Australian Heavyweight Karate Champion in 1982 He obtained his third degree black belt (third Dan) in Kyokushinkai Karate in July 1998 in Stockholm, Sweden, after a four to five months training with his former teacher Brian Fitkin. I would say he is pretty capable in a fight. -
BEWARE!!![/b] Maybe it's just my computer, but it's never done this before...when I clicked on this link it took me to a page, then I clicked on "Download video"...and about 30 seconds later my pc rebooted. A system check says everything's OK, but it spooked me. Just wanted to let you know just in case there's something not quite right here. could be spyware that triggered something in your registry.

Think about where they learned thier martial arts, Bruce lee was taught by Yip Man, the legendary Wing Chun grandmaster and Jackie Chan got taught by his acting school in hong kong, Jackie doesnt use real martial arts he uses "reel" martial arts, techniques that look good on camera. -
BJJ useful?
jedimc replied to Maddwraph's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
Judo with a little karate would not be bad as you could do a quick strike to the face to stun the opponent and then you go in and grab him and throw him and when hes on the ground kick him if you think hes not finished, as you are doing this you could throw him into his mates or throw him into a windshield or down a pile of stairs. a snap kick to the groin would also give you a bit of time to grab the opponent. -
I got this off my bro's jackie chan adventure magazine #19 and they have made a dictionary of martial arts and A starts in this issue, anyway I saw this and I type it into the internet and not much came up. It says it is a more a competitive and agressive art, isnt that a offence to O sensei, I read that he didnt want it to turn into a competition sport like judo has, Im not sure.
-
Im downloading that clip now , but the other day I downloaded a ed parker commercial from the 60s or 70s im not sure but damn he was very fast, I dont know much about ed parker and kenpo but from kenpo film clips ive seen it looks like a well rounded Martial Art.
