color of sparring gear

What does it matter in a tournament? -
I like this: "Karate is like ballet, except there is no music, no choreography and the dancers get to hit each other." However, in movies and tournies there is music and choreography.

I guess doesnt matter to the opponent getting hit, or you getting hit, what was color that had hit. -

Interesting, yet you give answers, commentary, and opinions so readily. Martial arts is like the bible or other religion, everyone has their own interpretations and opnions. Furthermore, records and details are lacking. -

wing chun kuen man, I am looking for many WC links, manly those of history and lineage. Also, I am looking for many Qi Gong (Chi Kung) links, esp those with demo pics. Do you have any such links. Browsing takes so much time when one has to open site after site. P.S. How about any good Martial Arts books of reading? My collection is vast, but I wouldn't mind adding to it. -

I can understand that certain mediums influence people, esp younger people. Thus the resurgence and ideals cometh forth. -
Good and bad of your style.

I see where you might be getting out. You find that there are pros and cons in ANY system. Perhaps, there are those that are too pig-headed (no names mentioned) to realize this. Vesitility of styles and systems make a versitile martial artist. Not tot mention one with a "open-mind" to further search for better understanding and different knowledge. I applaud your openess. -
I'm a skeptic, so far I only say magician parlor tricks and people whom get hit or hit a nice presure sensitive(or nerve center) really fast and all for a result and all claim it to be KI/Chi.

Did you state this out of inspiration or realism? -

Thanks for the invite. I am a Martial Artists from way back. Traveling from school school, instructor to instructor. I used to love seeing Master Moon doing those high, doubled legged kicks. So are you from New Orleans or Metairie? -
Yes, some libraries were limited. As with ALL of my posts: Just thought I wave it out there to stimulate opinions, responses, and/or feedback.

Thank you pvwingchun, Especially: "The truth is we don't know and will probably never know the truth." I am not trying to dispute anything. I merely enjoy reading a collection of opinions and feedback. I may state something to stimulate a response. My statements could or could not be my actual positon on the subject. Because the martial arts have many controversial issues, many people have opposing views. I accept either view, which I call opnions. From your research collection, could you please name your favorite sources, books or sites? -

Ah yes, by the Sonic on Veterans? I haven't seen Master Moon for decades. How is he? How is the wood on the floor? -

I knew this "decades" before the "Almighty Internet". Just thought I wave it out there to stimulate opinions, responses, and/or feedback.

color of sparring gear
47MartialMan replied to sickwithit13's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
No, I am saying is what difference is the color? What should matter is its quality to do the job. Worrying about color points to image conciousness. And that could lead to egocentricism. -
Best style for self-defense

Not always. Seen an Aikido stylist get faked and dropped. Point is, IT IS NOT MERELY the art, but the artist and the situation at the TIME.
