Could something interpreted, per individual, become that as being understood by said individual? Or for that matter, mis-interpreted become mis-understood? Most of the time, no one has the charaecters let alone trying to explain to a "commoner" anyway. from what you are saying here. does that mean that the next time you do this i can happily ignore it? If you want to. Bare in mind, it may not be a mis-interpreataion ofr a misunderstanding from my view. But, as I stated, I look for responses. You have to decide, because of repetitveness, if it is worth your effort. So that means I welcome yours, as well as any others. In fact, last week a "Chinese Word Subject" surfaced when I was taliking to someone else. He had done, exactly what I posted, per example. And I am time and time again going to post one, per a different word, to see other posts on it. the way they are written using the roman alphabet are not the real words. Agreed. they are just an attempt to write the sound. Poorly from what other people with common English. and this is a common situation? i have to say that you are the first/only person i have ever come acoss that has posed this to me. It is posed to me in the past and present form many other people, many times. I just look for other posts on it for future reference.

if the reader doesn't know the words anyway, it doesn't make a difference if he misreads it or not. Sure it does, I hear and see people do it all of the time. Shall we have them to continue to do so? For it that being your position, why bother to try to come along and "correct" me. i am saying that the debate regarding single word sounds is pointless because you don't encounter them singularly. Pointless? Some people will. BTW, as I had stated, my post are not necessarily my actual view or opinion. They don't "write it like it sounds" per a common English pronunciation. Zhang is a good example. Someone, not understanding it will use the Z as it sounds in English. Take Tao, using the T, like in to, but not as in "d" So, for the common English speaking person, Wade-Giles and Pinyin can get complicated. Now, you are still not understanding.

i wouldn't mind if there was some kind of progression but all you do is blindly go ahead with your of posing questions without consideration of what has been said previously. Nah, I use other words. the context plays a part in you understanding what 'character' the romanisation might be for. understanding of what the word is only comes after knowing what the character is. Agreed the only correct way to spell these things are in chinese. Wade-Giles and Pinyin changes it, or shall I say "complicate" it Perhaps asking these questions are to get a response, so that I can respond to others that have, or may, post the same to me, per past, present, future. For people whom read Wade-Giles, Pinyin, or way of writing how the word sounds phonetically, or using romanisation, I will post questions, although seemingly the same subject, but using different words.

Nah, I am not talking about the "Zhang" in baguazhang. Can the term "Zhang" take on many forms when used in different context? Like bai zhang, zhang cheng, Zhang He, zhang men, etc. Baguazhang, which I have also seen spelled Baatgwa Jeung. Ye, I do agree when used in baguazhang, it is palm.
