White Warlock, thanks for your comments all very interesting and taken on board. Telsun, you dont seem like a very nice person, but hey i guess we have to suffer people like you, perhaps you just feel inferior. I think some of you are taking the cloning thing the wrong way. I know clones dont exist. Im tryin to say that its very difficult to compare a larger opponent vs a smaller opponent because the question becomes unanswerable. You could endlessly pick different people of different sizes and say yeah but this guy would beat that one. Does this therefore mean that size does not matter? NO So how can we answer the question? Well look at yourself, if you became 5 inches shorter or taller, try to think of the differences that would have to your fighting ability, perhaps you feel your height is best as it is. Do you see what im getting at? You have to relate, as far as possible , these questions to yourself. All very well to say the shorter guy would win. But how would your sparring be affected if you became 5 inches shorter?

yeah idid, that was kinda my point.

So does this mean KK guys are going to start learning to punch to the face? Or is proper punching reserved for the top few?

youre saying shotokan has changed drastically since it was first made up. Did it really have grappling?

Yes those factors are part of beign bigger butthings like changing tactics are not. you need to look at the advantages and disadvantages of each and weigh them against each other. Why is you all fail to miss the point it cant be made any clearer, Im not talking about style vs style im talking about the futility of discussing comparing any two things if there are so many outside factors. Im agreeing wit you all but you all seem to have difficulty reading so i will try from now on to write in a more simple manner as i knoow it has been pointed out to me that there are many minors on the forum. And as well all know minors arent very intelligent as its dark underground and they cant read much down there

WHAT? ---------------------------------------------- Regarding the size thing, you have to veiw it this way if you are asking if the size of your opponent matters. I know there are other factors but if you looking at the size of your opponent then thats what you should talk about.

What are you trying to get from it? One month will tidy up your technique but if you do Karate it will completely clash with it. Dont bother with Boran until you got the basics. 1 month will help. Most people train about 4 hours a week in what they do. MT trains 6 hours a day , 6 days a week. To get the maximum benefit you need to be fit. If you are only there for a month you need to be fit to get the most from it. Here is the training program from lanna Muay thai. Morning 0600-Warm up/Stretch 0610-10 km. Run 0710-Drills (Knees, Kicks Teeps and Punches on the bag) 0730-Shadow Box (5 to 6 rounds) 0800-Bag Work (4 to 5 rounds) 0825-Pad Work (2 to 5 rounds) 0850-Clinching/Sparring (alternate days up to 5 rounds) 0915-Drills (as before) 0935-Exercises (sit ups push ups chin ups) 0950-Shadow Box (2 to 3 rounds) 1005-Cool Down Stretch Afternoon 1600-Warm Up/Stretch 1610-3 to 5 km. Run 1635-Skip (4 rounds) 1655-Shadow Box (5 to 6 rounds) 1725-Bag Work (6 to 8 rounds) 1805-Pad Work (5 to 6 rounds) 1835-Clinching/Sparring (alternate days, 5 to 6 rounds) 1905-Drills (as morning) 1925-Shadow Box (3 to 4 rounds) 1940-Cool Down Stretch Youo wont have to do quite that much butits a guide.

Ok maybe i was exagerating, but i would maintain that it shouldnt take years to learn one technique. I have never found this to be the case for any single technique. If it takes that long i would question its usefulness, i cant imagine what sort of techniuqe would take that long. Months yes, years no.

http://www.so-net.ne.jp/*/k-1gp/top607.htm Maybe not long till KK steps into the MT ring???? Will be interesting, if they can do K1 then the MT ring is next on the list.

Dijita, half as cool humm, you got your fractions inversed, try twice as cool. So who did your KK guys fight, a bunch of one legged cripples? children perhaps, no, no dont tell me they were blind. All saying they do MT. they beat Remy, humm thats good. I think that fhilpo or whatever his name is KK guy and Remy are rivals that keep beating each other, if i remember correctly they have fought many times under K1.

Probably true you might not definately get cut but it certainly doesnt take much skill to be effective against an unarmed person. The problem is if you dont know theyve got it. This is ten times worse. Cos in the mix and chaos of the fight everything is a bit blurry but this guy knows and remembers he has it. You may not see it coming. Then again he has to have the opportunity to draw it. It is my experience that two inexpereinced guys going for it have natural lulls in the fight, even if the fight only lasts 40 seconds. In these moments the knife is pullled. From seeing this i have concluded that, and it makes sence anyway, it is best to finish teh fight conclusively but more importantly, rapidly.
