I agree with Shorin Ryu......I usually wait for the ooponent to make his move, which leaves openings that I try to exploit.

CQC is very similar to the CQB Tactics (close quarter battle) that I practice.....very violent, but very effective.

KF is a great "place" to be.....What a great way to stay motivated to train.....you get to "meet" new people, make some new friends, and discuss tons of different type of arts. Theres always someone here whos willing to help to motivate each and every one of us......Thanks KF !

When did he pass away ?.....Hes a local guy from NYC, and a good friend of my Aikijujitsu Grandmaster. His skill level was phenomenal, and he was a wonderful human being who gave so much to the world around him. He will be sorely missed, and truly honered.

Openmindeddo.........I started my Goju training in the Shobukan back in 1990. I live in New Rochelle. I used to own the Bushidokan dojo. I left the Shobukan with my best friend who was Frank DeRaffelle's top student back in the early 90's. BTW.....my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Dan came from Master Glenard Grabow, student and close friend of Masanobu Shinjo and Seikichi Toguchi since 1960.

Goju Ryu has TONS of grappling methods which come from the Shaolin China Na aspects of the art.

Fortunately, most times are uneventful, but we did have an incident outside of a casino ( I was bodyguarding a "high roller" ). My primary won a shedload of money and there were 2 guys who wanted to take it from him. I knocked the first guy out cold, and the second guy went to pull a gun......I always wear a vest, and carry a weapon, but I didnt have time to go for my gun, as it all happened so fast. After knocking out the first guy, I threw him at the 2nd guy who was drawing his gun. The impact caused him to drop the gun, I kicked it away, grabbed his arm which was reaching out and broke his elbow. He went down hard, I dove on my primary, shoved him in the car, and we got outta there......no time for any paperwork as they say. There have been a few times that have been scary like that.......but thats what I get paid for......gotta pay the bills ya know......I got an ex-wife who killed me in a divorce.
