  1. Talked to some friends(I can't remember everything from that night)... turns out I wasn't bounced from the place, it was just closing and I was making some noise about how it sucks that the whole state locks down at 2am. I guess that's kind of nice for the people working, though.
  2. "24fightingchickens.com is closed" Has been for a while, I think.
  3. Next time just put the smack-down on the woman. She was the cheater, not the old dude.
  4. Oh man, were you there about 2 years ago? I got bounced from the Turtle. Why does Connecticut close at 2 am anyway?
  5. It's always been a policy in my dojo to NEVER ask to be tested, and to never measure yourself against other students, only against yourself. If you're ready, and your teacher is a good guy, he'll let you know when it's time for you to test.
  6. What's the purpose of a "big band aid"? I'm glad to hear it isn't about the dudes nipples!
  7. LOL, I'll just walk around the bar yelling out, "Hey Master Jules, where are ya?"
  8. I don't want my wife to train with me. Having interests separate from each other allows a little break and time to ourselves.
  9. I'd like that a lot. I need some time to get back into shape though. I just went back to class for the first time in 3 months tonight! Where do you currently train, Master Jules? Heck, I wouldn't mind just getting together to hang sometime! Send me a PM or an e-mail: krunchyfrogg@gmail.com Anyway, I just realized that I never answered the question in this thread. I'm a Radiologic Technologist, more commonly known as an X-Ray Tech. I'm the guy you visit in the hospital when you need an X-Ray. I've recently been promoted to a Special Procedures/Angiography position (in fact, I'm the lead tech now), which means that I'm assisting the doctor in minor vascular surgeries. It's intense stuff, but I find in much more interesting and rewarding (mentally, spiritually, and financially) than doing regular radiology work.
  10. That's great advice, both in and out of fights.
  11. When I walked in (I arrived fairly early), everyone told me how nice it was to have me back. I felt very comfortable stretching and catching up with everybody before class. I realized how much I missed it there. During the warmup exercises, I became fatigued much earlier than I ever did before. Then my Sensei matched me up with the guy I got injured with to be my partner for the class. That made me nervous again. I had a decent class fighting, and the going was slow, but I remembered more than I thought (both the warmup routine and my Japanese speaking). My kata was horrendous;y sloppy, but my Sensei told me to keep at it and that I'll be back to where I was in just a week or two. I didn't spar, and was told to get a couple of more classes under my belt before I could get back to sparring. Right now my hip is very sore, and I'm about to hit the shower. I really feel great though, and I'm glad I went back. I don't think I'll go to class tomorrow, because I think it's a good idea to rest my body after the hard workout tonight, but I plan on going again Friday (Friday's are usually slightly less intense, because it's a mixed kids/adults class). Hopefully next week I can start going my usual Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. I've got a lot of catching up to do! Thanks for all the support guys!
  12. I will. I'm just about to leave, and I have to admit... I'm pretty nervous about it! As much as I've loved going to classes since I started about 18 months ago, I've been a little reluctant about going back, and now I'm really forcing myself to do this!
  13. I'm in NY, have been my whole life.
  14. I'm still doing X-Rays, but they're of peoples blood vessels instead of bones, ect.. It's much more complicated than it used to be, but a lot more exciting too. The risk level (for patients and myself) is higher too. I don't like tooting my own horn, but you really need to have a pretty good head on your shoulders to do this job.
  15. You got it right on.
  16. Anybody see this? Something really weird happens in this movie, and I'd like some clarification please. There's a part when Bruce Lee's character is investigating the death of his teacher, and he finds out a trusted member of his school is in fact Japanese, but everybody thought he was Chinese up to that point. The weird part is that Bruce Lee gasps after seeing this bad guy with his shirt off and says "You're Japanese!" (or something like that). At the same time, the camera zooms in on this villians nipples. Now, what's the difference between a Chinese persons and a Japanese persons nipples? TIA
  17. Who does that song (it's an instrumental only, at least in the film) that plays when O Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu) and her gang are settling into that club? What's the name of that song? I think it's also in a Jaguar car commercial now, but don't quote me on that. TIA.
  18. What should I expect? I know I'm not in the shape I was when I got injured (which is what forced me to miss this time). I also know I don't remember all of the terminology, stances, and kata I knew before getting injured. How long does it usually take for this knowledge to come back? What about my physical condition? TIA.
  19. I've been told that "Shorin" is the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese word "Shaolin," and that "Ryu" means "way." Is this true? Does that mean that Shorin Ryu is actually Kung Fu? How do the two styles (assuming they're separate) compare? TIA
  20. The pic in the photo makes it look like some old american guys fighting in the street. "Put up yer dukes" LOL
  21. Question: My wife would like to be able to burn CDs, and possibly DVDs as well. Would I need to change anything on my order for these features? Also, I have some friends who have told me that an 80 Gig Hard Drive is more than I'll ever need (I can save some cash if I lower that down). If I do go down to 40 Gigs, would that affect my CD/DVD burning? Please, keep in mind that I really don't know much about these things. It's all new to me. TIA.
  22. Thanks for the tip, Sam! I'll place this order by phone instead of ordering online then!
  23. My friend helped my build this computer. Let me start by saying that I really don't know much about computers. I also only use my computer for checking e-mail, visiting message boards, and things like that. I also play some older video games (late 90's). Anyway, here's what we came up with: Dell Dimension 3000 Series Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor (2.80GHz, 533 FSB) Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition OS 512MB Dual Channel DDR SDRAM at 400MHz Integrated Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 video card 80GB Ultra ATA/100 7200RPM Hard Drive 48x CD-ROM Drive + Save $40! 48x CD-RW/ DVD Combo Drive Integrated Audio Sound Card Will this be able to handle the needs I detailed above? Does it look like a reliable system? TIA.
