  5. Yea - I'm vegan ! lol
  6. See all the world problems would be solved if everyone just became vegetarian! There would be no need for live stock - therefore eliminating the problem of predator food chains; since live stock production is a grossely inefficient method compared to agricultural food growth - all that extra land could be used to grow extra food, solving the problem of world starvation and then there would be no need to destroy rainforests for beef manufacture and hence global warming would no longer be a problem, and hundreds of endangered species would be able to continue their existance. This is obviously a crude explanation, however it can be accurately follwed and reasoned - Just I'm too lazy... The world would be a much better place if people could just overcome their lust for meat!
  7. Lmao! Here we go! Well Ad - If you take a look at the ICC tournament in Nairobi, Kenya...we beat both South Africa and Australia to get to the finals, and Pakistan didnt even get there so...and looking back 3 years to the World Cup which you were talking about - Who won when India and Pakistan played?? India... Talking more about the world cup - you say that Paksitan was involved in match fixing during the World Cup; but at the time Azhar was the captain of India - you dont think he was fixing games either? And you say that they didnt want to get into the final, they even lost to Bangladesh - That is true, but they only lost to them after they were garunteed a place in the Semis... Look at the last time India and Pakistan played a Test Series - We won 2-1, with Kumble taking 10 wickets in 1 innings...! Heck, India didnt lose to England at home like Pakistan did... Sure you could say that Pakistan are ranked higher on the ICC test table - however, If India draw their current series with West Indies, they will move up above Pakistan, and if they win they will move up 2 places above Pakistan.. So any way you look at it - but yes, we will see in 2003
  8. In the short term - yes, but in the long term- No! As a result of low populations of their prey, they themselves begin to die out untill an equillibrium level of predator to prey occurs.
  9. hahaha

  16. Yea - I totally agree with you, I've always encouraged cross training and do do it myself, and I think it is important to help you become an all round fighter. - I just wanted to point out that even though you may be a strong all round fighter, things may not go youre way in a fight. Or though you may have been trained in a variety of grappling, strike and ground fighting arts; youre mental attitude may prevent you from fighting well. For example - you face up with a huge dude, and too scared to take a hit, youre fear gets the better of you and you dont do what you've been trained to do. I think that the mental aspect in martial arts is at the end of the day much more important then youre physical training. It all boils down to if youre brain can think clearly in pressure situations, if you can overcome youre emotions and play the game as you know it... Sure the training you do in the ring of a specific art can prepare you somewhat for whats really going to happen - but it can only do so much; because like people have said before, fighting in the ring or in a dojo and fighting in the street is very different. Generally speaking, I think there is something about Karate that teaches alot to a person 'mentally'...and you talk about the skill which is required to know when and where to strike - I think it depends alot on the person training. I enjoy kuhmite and spend most my after class hours training with other senior students to improve our timing, reflexes e.t.c Whilst another student always stays behind and practices his Kata - that's his thing... At the end of the day he's much better at me @ excecuting Kata, but I have more honed fight skills. You say that Muay Thai focuses more on the fight aspect, but I think Karate gives you the flexibility to chose to do one or the other... or both ( which would be the smart choice since you benefit from Kata and Sparring). 17. Hello - Im sure youre knowledge and experience will be appreciated here.
  18. Or maybe this fighter gets something in his eye just as he begins the fight with the Karate student; and in that instant a powerful punch drives the bone in his nose through his head and he dies on the spot... Other then the art they practiced there are many more important factors that determine the better fighter, or who comes out victorious. [ This Message was edited by: Jiggy9 on 2002-04-09 08:50 ]
  19. Hey
  20. .....rrrrrrriiiiiggghhhhhhhtttt....
  21. I watched that video again and again - and you know, I think those guys were wussies and Im not sure if they wanted to start the fight in the first place. Just watch the guy who is infront of him in the beggining, he's cowering with his hands up when the other guys are being pushed around....and when he's pushes the guy on his left the rest stay where they are, and then when he punched the guy infront of him the guy on the right just stands there. I think if they were the main aggressors they would have to tried to jump him from behind or something - then again he could have just been pissing in his pants and too scared to do it...I dont know, because those guys were all around him @ the start. Dragonstyle, i personally found that video @ fight authority but I've been told its on a CKY aswell - I dont know if he studied any martial arts or anything! Cool video though hey!
  22. Lots of good advice from Jack there; I can do little then re iterate what he has already said. I happen to be around 6 feet and less then 60 kgs myself so I can understand youre woes! It all boils down to total determination and hard work, plenty of pushups of different varieties : tiger pushups, pushups with both youre arms on higher ground - move youre arms further away from the centre of youre body, or youre arms further up from youre orginal position; arched pushups, sit ups, squats, pull ups. If you dont have weights - improvise (check out a post on the poor mans work out!) use heavy books or something - put something heavy on youre back and then do push ups, try carrying to weighted bags and doing lunges, if youre ever going up an elevator - hold on to the side rails and do calf raises whilst it takes you up. When youre training youre punches e.t.c try punching with maximum power - that should work youre muscles as well. When youre not on holidays see if you can hit the gym? Hope that helps, Jig
