    A number of people I have encountered had problems with kokutsu dachi at first. Having done a lot of shiko dachi before encountering kokutsu I found kokutsu had a very natural feel to it. Just give it time. It will get better.
  3. I am way beyond legally blind without my glasses. I invested in rec specs to wear and I think they were worthwhile. I wore them under an openfaced foam sparring helmet. You will also find other times to wear them. I wear mine in the pool when I work with the aqua jogger or do kata or drills in the water.

  6. I have to agree with smr. Within just about every style there are lineages that stress different parts of training and usage of the art or style.
  7. One of the overlook purposes of the makiwara is to train the muscles and tendons all the way up through the shoulder to handle impact. It is not just about knuckles. It is about techique too.

  22. I would see about a good knee brace for grappling if I were you. I don't know much about chito ryu. Are your stances very deep?
  23. Basic s foot bo to start. Just get the same model eveyone else in the dojo has to start. And if you like working with the bo you can always upgrade later.

I had to think about that for a minute and I have to say from my experience being on an installation where there where a good 10 or more guys to every girl that many females are capable of bonding in a group the way many guys are. And there are some guys who are just as bad as fussy girls about worry about little things eveyone else forgot about being said long ago. It really comes down to the individual.
