Adolescents are at a stage in their life where being popular often dictates their actions and beliefs. Looking silly or being different are undesirable for most teenagers. This is just a normal part of growing up. When you grow up, trying to be cool loses its appeal, and you start thinking for yourself. Teachers don't care about what the kids think - why would they? Its not important. Put it this way, do high school kids go out of their way to impress primary school kids? Do they care what the little kids think of them, or are there more important things in life?

That particular phrase is my pet peeve. Personal interests and lifestyle are not devoid of value because there are others who do not assimilate! It is used predominately in conjunction with peer pressure, and shows ignorance and arrogance.

What exactly is innocence other than just ignorance? The longer children are held in a fantasy land state of childhood, the longer it takes and the more difficult it is to adjust to the real world. We should not confuse education with indulgent promotion. Slang and foul language are often used by people who's emotions have dominated their logic. A person's sexuality is in their mind - if it were physical, you could tell one's sexuality by a medical exam. To what fairy * are you referring?
