Martial Arts as a way of life
iamrushman replied to moobrack's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
WADOGUY........gives a good discription of the other side of the way......and i agree with him..............TS757...i'm sure you have learned some patience due to the fact that, i'm sure, you just don't run into your opponent without some kind of premeditated attack/defense stratagy. -
first; welcome to karateforums MIKEOD....... yes, taekwondo practices many traditional weapons and has a few korean techniques as well. such as: GUMDO..... the way of swordsmanship , the long pole (can't remember the korean name at this time) and many others. happy posting.............

first KICKCHICK... i want to say that i as a man really appreciate the work you women do to keep yourself soft and tender for us men, and thats why we love you so. moreover, because of what you say here we see that you have to work much harder fighting the conflict of interest that is due to making a hard, tough, well protected body and keeping your wonderful beauty at the same time. my heart goes out to each and every women in the martial arts.

sparring vs fighting???
iamrushman replied to CTpizzaboy's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
well maybe my point was missed in all those words......so here i will just make the point i was trying to make. high kicks can be converted to low kicks with just as much, if not more power and effectiveness. -
sparring vs fighting???
iamrushman replied to CTpizzaboy's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
most people with limited training in taekwondo feel that it is only high fancy kicks.......however; this is a misconception, because those same kicks can be performed with even more effectiveness when applied to the low and middle levels............. -
patience my friend and calluses will develop..

Martial Arts From Videos....
iamrushman replied to Blade13's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
BLADE13...i see by your posts above that you have a lot of respect and consideration in your heart and that is admirable in such a young man. as far as the videos go, i feel they are for review and ideas for a trained person not for learning a new art. (see karate kid movie). furthermore; because you are young and must rely on your family for transportation and other things. it is most likely better for you to take whatever martial art is close to you that you may get to on your own(bus/bike/walk) as a starter art. then later when you get your drivers licence you may persue other types of martial arts. good luck in your quest. just rushman's humble opinion. -
very nice to have your on board FIGURE4MAN.......good place for you to be. happy posting........

here's a thread i found at the bottom with no real subject. how about i ask a question here. IF YOU WERE TO OPEN YOUR OWN TAEKWONDO SCHO0L TOMORROW, WHAT TYPE OF IDEAS WOULD YOU INCORPORATE IN IT? for instance: what would your school motto be? what other techniques would you use?(grappling, breaking, poomse, boxing) what would be the youngest/oldest student you would allow? what belt colors/stages would you use. would you associate with an organization? thats all i can think of for now, but you get the idea............. i'm really interested in you views and insights. _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon [ This Message was edited by: iamrushman on 2001-09-03 03:43 ]

lol........maam.......please read my reponse again...... they have already disrespected me. so it is obvious thay don't like me before they know me. therefore; if i'm not in the best of moods they deserve what they get. i live by a noble and honorable code, so to live for someone else with disrespect in there heart would be futile for me.

To Gi or not to Gi, that is the question.
iamrushman replied to thaiboxerken's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i enjoy wearing the dobok (gi) for comfort and tradition, but i also train in street clothes for realistic purposes..... kicking in jeans is different than in bajai (dobok pants).....
