Patrick replied to sensei8's topic in KarateForums.com Announcements
Thank you for addressing the community, Bob! I'm grateful for all of your contributions over the years, and I am so glad that this community can be part of your support system in your fight against cancer. The kind words about this community mean a lot, Brian, Colin, and Fat Cobra. I really appreciate it, and thanks for making it that way through your posts here. Patrick -

Do you have a personal fitness challenge right now?
Patrick replied to Alan Armstrong's topic in Health and Fitness
I was trying to get up to running 3 days a week, but I think 2 is the right number because 3 is just making me a bit too sore. But will still do 3 some weeks, probably. -
After pushing through the channels, if it gets to that point, please let us know. Patrick

Raising or Lowering your teaching standards?
Patrick replied to Alan Armstrong's topic in Instructors and School Owners
Hey Alan, I think some additional context might be helpful here. Are you raising them or lowering them why? Because of COVID and not being able to train in person like you used to? Or within some other context? Thanks, Patrick -
Why did you have to cancel?

We watched Enola Holmes on Netflix the other day (https://www.netflix.com/watch/81277950), and it was a fun movie. Enola's Mom teaches her all sort of things, including jiu-jitsu. This ties into the Sherlock Holmes character being a practitioner of "baritsu" and to the real-life stories of women jiu-jitsu practitioners who fought for the right to vote in the UK. This is one of the big plot points of the movie. More on that story here: https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2020/9/29/21493051/enola-holmes-and-the-real-life-jiujitsu-practitioners-who-fought-for-womens-voting-rights I can't recall hearing this story before. Cool stuff. Disclosure: My fiancée works for Netflix, but had nothing to do with Enola Holmes.
