  1. Thank you for the kind words, Bob. We're glad to have you, Fat Cobra. And thanks, RW! Patrick
  2. Hey all, KarateForums.com is 19 years old today. Honestly, I'm not sure what to say, but I am going to share what comes to mind immediately. I love that we're still having meaningful conversations after so long. It's fun that we've had multiple members return after being away for several years and be like, "hey, I'm glad you're still here." That's a unique thing that only happens with communities that exist over a long period of time. I always get a kick out of that. We're not as active as we once were, but that's okay. Communities ebb and flow, and there is nothing wrong with having a good, core group of people. I'm grateful for those who contribute thoughtful posts to our community. Members like ashworth, aurik, Bulltahr, CTTKDKing, Fat Cobra, hammer, Himokiri Karate, JazzKicker, LastKing, Nevinyrral, P.A.L, rhilllakefield, RW, Spartacus Maximus, scohen0300, Spodo Komodo, Tempest, and Wado Heretic. I'm fortunate to have a great group on staff who exemplify what the community is all about and work behind the scenes to keep things in a good place. Thank you to bushido_man96, DWx, tallgeese, Wastelander, sensei8, Lupin1, Nidan Melbourne, JR 137, and mazzybear. We're running old software with weird quirks. I'm looking at possibly changing that, but don't want to make any promises or talk about timelines as I've loosely discussed it before and had other things take priority. I don't want to look forward too quickly, but May 21, 2021 will be 20 years of KF, and that is such a crazy mark. We have members who will chart growth within their life and martial arts journey with their time spent here, who know where they were when they joined and where they are now, and the happy and sad moments in between. It's such an amazing thing that this community has been a part of those lives, and it's one of the things that stands out the most. Thank you for helping to make this a special place. Patrick
  3. I'm sorry to hear about your father, Spodo Komodo. The kind words about this community mean a lot. Thanks for contributing to what makes KF that type of place. It's good to have you back. Patrick
  4. Hello, Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com. We recognize one member every month as the KarateForums.com Member of the Month for their positive contributions to this community. Our honoree for April (we're a bit delayed, sorry!) is... Spodo Komodo for the second time! Thank you for all of the great contributions that you have made over the years, Spodo Komodo! March marked 10 years since you joined our community! It's amazing to have members like you over such a long period of time. Thanks, Patrick
  5. Yeah, I feel like you'd definitely like it, Brian. Patrick
  6. Welcome to KF, Ryan34! Patrick
  7. I'll miss the show, but at least we know its on the way out, so they can end it appropriately.
  8. Any other fans of the Amazon show Bosch? The season 6 ending was so good!
  9. Glad to have you, Gary.
  10. I think it's pretty fun that you both have recollection of this from other online forums and are talking about it here. It either happened or this is one of those Mandela effect moments.

  12. Thanks hammer. Yes, we try to wrap these up within April 1, give or take an hour or two. The photo hammer shared is from my apartment, so I guess it's pretty common! Thanks, Patrick
  13. Nice to see you back, rd2022! Patrick
  14. Interesting callback and thought. You're right.
  15. While the toilet paper part of this was an April Fool's Day joke, hammer is actually the Member of the Month, and and I meant what I said above. Thank you for your good humor. Patrick
  16. Hey all, We're not sending rolls of toilet paper to Member of the Month honorees, but we hope that you had a good Wednesday and, most importantly, thank you and your loved ones are safe and healthy during this crisis. Thank you for your good humor, as always. Thank you to the team for the idea and to hammer (who is actually the Member of the Month) for playing along. Patrick
  17. I liked it. A bit frustrated by some of the characters decisions, haha. But overall, a fun show. Patrick
  18. Hey all, Did anyone watch Locke & Key? I can't believe it took 9 episodes for Kinsey and Tyler to trust Bode!
  19. Hello, Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com. For nearly 16 years, we've given our KarateForums.com Member of the Month award to a member who has made outstanding contributions to our community. We're always looking for ways to broaden this program. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, there have been toilet paper shortages. This might lead to some martial artists tearing up their gis to use as toilet paper, and we'd like to avoid that. As such, starting today, we're giving all Member of the Month honorees a roll of toilet paper, in appreciation of the time they spend helping other members here - some of that time, no doubt, comes when they are on the toilet. Our honoree for this month is... hammer! Thank you for being a part of our community for the last 15 and a half years(!), hammer. We appreciate all of your contributions. Thanks, Patrick
  20. Thanks for sharing, Radagast! Patrick
  21. Obviously, we're seeing a lot of changes as the world tries to flatten the curve on COVID-19. We have threads on what schools are doing to stop the spread and how instructors are coping. So, I thought I would start one focused on your personal training. Your school might be closed or closing soon. What do you plan to do until it reopens? Or what are you already doing?
  22. Thanks for sharing, Bob, Devin, Brian, Liam, and Danielle. I appreciate it.
