Thanks for asking! Yes, I believe so! I'll consider myself 100% when I start swinging a club again at full speed.

That's frustrating. Sounds like my golf injury. Just doing something routine and ... there goes my arm. I found it to be sort of traumatic, like it's going to take some time to get back to doing something I've done 2 million times in my life. I still haven't hit a ball.

That's frustrating, Bob. One step at a time.

Hey all, We just watched The Paper Tigers on Netflix. It's about three Kung-Fu prodigies that get older and... life happens, and they lose touch with the art (well, two out of three, one transitions to being an MMA instructor or at least, he works at an MMA gym). When their sifu is killed, they try to track down who did it and avenge his death. It relies on some of the martial arts mysticism that I know can turn off a lot of folks, e.g. one of the main traits of the bad guy is that he uses "poison fingers," which is basically a one touch death. But if you can get past that, there are some nice themes around martial arts being a venue for friendship and growth. One fun thing about it: Matthew Page, who portrays Master Ken on YouTube, has a solid role in the movie, and has some of the funniest moments in the film. I saw this on the side of a dojo in North Hollywood. Thought some school owners here might get a kick out of it as a form of marketing. http://www.karateforums.com/img/photos/crane-kick-not-a-real-karate-move.jpg

Hey Bob, Try not to be so hard on yourself. There are numerous reasons for this sort of thing, and anything you did is at the bottom of that list. Just going to throw some things out that may be annoying, but just to go through it... - Medicare shouldn't be affected by a move. You may have mentioned this earlier in the thread, but is it a matter of certain expenses being left over? - I'm guessing you have already been all the way through Nevada Health Link and have called and asked them for help. - Have you tried the National Cancer Institute at 1-800-4-CANCER? They are supposed to have some ideas. - Have you tried CancerCare at 1-800-813-HOPE? They provide free case management and could be useful by providing referrals to vetted local resources. - What was the name of the act that is expiring? I did some Googling and couldn't track it down. Keep on it.

Hey all, Today marks 15 years that Brian (bushido_man96) has been on our staff. This is an incredibly unique milestone. I've been moderating online communities for 23 years, and in any community I've ever been apart of, I have never seen a staff member who had remained so for 15 years. I've never had one on any community I've managed. Brian is the first. It represents a truly special contribution to this community. Brian has more posts here than anyone else - 28,843 in over 15 years of membership - but to say that is almost to simplify his contribution to a number. Which doesn't do it justice. There are other numbers, too. He's been nominated by the community, for a KarateForums.com Award, 49 times. That's more than anyone. He's won 17 awards, which is second most. But the real impact is when you think about the people who were touched by those posts. Not just in the sense of sharing some helpful piece of knowledge and advice. But more importantly, the space that he creates for others to feel comfortable enough to come out of their shell, share what they know, and feel welcome. That's really what I notice. It's easy for me to say that Brian's posts have touched hundreds of thousand of people. It could even be millions. (If you want to hear from Brian, have a listen to this podcast). As a staff member, Brian's tenure has been marked by consistency and reliability. He has been dependable, proactive, and thoughtful in how he approaches the task. Brian is a great team player, who understands the importance of moderation and always wants to us to arrive at the right choice in every decision we have to make. I am so grateful that we've had Brian as a member of the community and feel fortunate to have had him on our staff for so long. He's made KarateForums.com a better place, and it's hard to think of this space without him in it! Brian, thank you for your friendship, kindness, and support over the years. It means a lot to me. There's a really cool gift that's being made for Brian right now. Unfortunately, it is not in his hands yet, but maybe once it is, we can share some photos. I'm pretty excited about it. Please join me in congratulating Brian on this major milestone! Thanks, Patrick
