What to do about students (kids) that don't want to train?
Patrick replied to DWx's topic in Instructors and School Owners
I don't think that forcing someone to do something they don't want to do has to do with someone having a lack of patience or wanting instant gratification. I don't want to skydive. Being forced to do it isn't going to make me any happier about it. Patrick -

Hey all, June 20 marked 5 years on staff for Mo (mazzybear), and I wanted to take a moment to honor that milestone! Since joining KF in October of 2013, Mo's presence has made our community a better place. As a member of staff, Mo has provided a lot of a lot of support behind the scenes and contributed to various ideas and initiatives based on her knowledge of the community. Mo, thank you for all of your contributions to KarateForums.com, both as a member and as a Sempai! Patrick

Five Years on Staff for Nidan Melbourne!
Patrick replied to Patrick's topic in KarateForums.com Announcements
I look forward to that. -
Hey all, June 17 marks 5 years since Liam (Nidan Melbourne) joined our team here at KarateForums.com, and I wanted to take a moment to recognize him. In his time here, Liam has made well over 2,265 posts, which is 28th all-time, and I have no doubt that he'll join the top 25 club soon enough. But post count isn't really what it's about, because Liam has shown himself to be a thoughtful, kind member who shares with others, creates space for new members, and has made this community a better place. Liam has been honored by the community through the KarateForums.com Awards, with two wins and nine nominations. As a member of our team, Liam has continued to contribute in a new way, by monitoring conversations and ensuring that this community we all love continues to be a special place. Speaking personally, it's been a pleasure to watch Liam grow in life, and to become a father! Liam, thank you for being such a great part of this community, through your long-term contributions and consistent, dependable presence. Thanks, Patrick

Hey all, Please join me in recognizing JR in honor of his being on staff for 5 years as of June 17! Since joining the community a little over 6 years ago, JR has made an incredible mark. Yes, he's in the top 25 members, in our 20+ year history, when it comes to posts (currently 24th). But, as with all of the great members here, it's far more than post count. It's what he does with it. The KarateForums.com Awards are but one way that our members recognize each other, but it's clear from them that JR is very much appreciated by the community, as he's won 8 awards and been nominated 21 times (both 5th most all-time). JR has helped and created space for far too many members to count, and has made so many feel appreciated and welcome here. As a member of our team, JR has built upon his public contributions by helping to keep the community productive and safe. JR, thank you for being a part of our community, and for everything that you have done as both a member and staff member! I appreciate you. Patrick

Yeah, the series finale was very satisfying. When they all came back together for the final fight... great payoff moment. Glad Trevor lived, though that surprised me.

Cool, yes, I am familiar with that day, too. We have several great comic shops out here! Anyway, for this year's RSD, I am planning to look out for the Biggie Duets vinyl and maybe the Weird Al Beat On The Brat vinyl, too. Realizing now that Record Store Day is two days a month apart this year, with drops on June 12 and July 17.

Hey, does anyone else look forward to Record Store Day? I always take a look at the exclusives list to check for any artists I'm into. We live close to a couple of cool record stores in Hollywood, including Amoeba Hollywood, and that's sort of made it more fun.

Gotcha. Sorry you are having to go through it.

I'm glad that you've secured insurance, Bob. Still, it stinks you have to wait. What do your doctors say about the delay?
