  1. Thanks for sharing, Bob. I understand what you mean. Do the doctors respond, just slowly, or no response at all? Patrick
  2. It's designed that way, to keep you engaged, don't expect them to be best buddies anytime soon I imagine..........And if they do because best buddies, don’t expect it to last any length of time. JUST BE FRIENDS ALREADY.
  3. Congrats to Zach! Thanks for sharing, aurik. Patrick
  4. Hey all, Not sure how many active users we have in Northern California, Oregon and Washington but hope you are all doing alright with the fires. We had one not too far (not dangerous, just over the hills) from us, and the air quality here has been poor because of the all of the fires around the state, so we've been staying inside even more than we were already. Starting to get better the last few days. Patrick
  5. We have one episode left in the first season. I just want Daniel and Johnny to unite to take on a greater evil, haha. Patrick
  6. Hey Bob, From your September 4 post, there were several "every 2 weeks" treatments and events. Have you already reached 1-2 of those? How are they going? Patrick
  7. Hello, Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com. We recognize one member every month as the KarateForums.com Member of the Month for their positive contributions to this community. Our honoree for August (we're still a bit behind, sorry!) is... aurik! Thank you for all of the contributions that you've made to our community over the last (almost!) 4 years, aurik! We're glad to have you here. Thanks, Patrick
  8. Can only add to what everyone else on this thread as said. One day at a time. We're here. Patrick
  9. So nice to hear that this could be a meaningful place for you during this time, Alan and RW. That means a lot. Our community is full of thoughtful people, like you, and it shows. RW, the really short version is that, back in early 2001, I was thinking up ideas for websites, came across this name, had a friend (still my friend) who was into the martial arts, he thought it was a good idea, and so I did it. From there, it's just a lot of day in, day out attention to keep things rolling forward in a friendly, respectful, productive way. Thanks again, Patrick
  10. Thanks for the update, Bob. Yeah, the unknown is a tough thing to deal with. Looking forward to hearing good results, hopefully, and continuing to send positive vibes. Patrick
  11. Hello, Thank you for visiting KarateForums.com. We recognize one member every month as the KarateForums.com Member of the Month for their positive contributions to this community. Our honoree for July (we're still a bit behind, sorry!) is... Lupin1 for the second time! We've already covered it here, but Devin, you've been an incredible contributor to our community for such a long time. Thank you for being such a great part of this community! Thanks, Patrick
  12. I've got some news... we've started watching Cobra Kai, in anticipation of the Netflix release. I am only a few episodes in, but I'll be back when I'm all caught up! Patrick
  13. Hey all, Devin (Lupin1) is leaving our staff as our longest tenured Sempai (forum guide) after well over 7 years in the role. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible contributions that she has made to our community, as not only on staff for the past 7+ years, but also as a member for more than a decade. As a member of our team, Devin has brought a consistently thoughtful voice to our behind the scenes inner workings, with great care and empathy for our entire community. I've been grateful to have her for so long and to be able to benefit from her knowledge of both the martial arts and KarateForums.com. As a member, Devin's 1,628 posts have touched at least tens of thousands of people, if not hundreds of thousands (we sometimes forget how much impact a single post can make). I've always appreciated the way Devin goes about posting - thoughtful, kind, deliberate, meaningful. She has set an outstanding example for anyone who joins our community. From talking to Devin, this isn't good bye to our community, and she'll still be around. But I'm a big believer in giving people their flowers while they're still around to see them, and I hope you'll join me. Thank you, Devin! Patrick
  14. Welcome, MAD Mike. Glad to have you. Patrick

  16. Hey avatarrules123. Welcome. No worries, you won't receive any "hate" here. Thanks for joining us. Patrick
  17. Hey Bob, I appreciate that you trust the community enough to share this with us. This is terrible news, and am sending positive vibes your way that you will beat this as quickly and painlessly as possible. Beyond that, I hope that you see the community as a supportive force in your life and here to provide a boost in this fight whenever we can. Patrick
  18. Fun question, cheesefrysamurai. Thanks for posting it!
  19. Thanks so much, Joe. I'm glad it was useful. Patrick
