Patrick replied to masterintraining's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
This is life. People do this in every field, no matter what the field. Whether that be martial arts, video games, running an online community or hanging up a picture. "I want you to do it this way. Oh, you won't? Well, you have no idea what you're doing." That's just the way it is. You shouldn't and really can't waste much time on it. You need to focus on what you do, what your goals are and what you need to accomplish. That's one thing that seperates successful people from unsuccessful people. Beating people up every time someone says something disrespectful about you, your trade, your idols, etc. isn't a good way to live. Just do you and it'll work out. -
Well, I got it onsale at Buy.com for $105.40. And there are no monthly fees or anything, just a one time fee.

No worries, I should have mentioned a link. http://us.slingmedia.com/page/slingboxav.html Basically, it allows you to watch your TV from anywhere as long as you have a high speed connection.
-
hehe. Well, that'd be just fine with me.
-
Does anyone have a Slingbox? If so, what do you think of it? I just picked one up yesterday on sale. Thanks.
-
heh, that's kinda neat, actually. But, there are always options. You can buy the classic controller for the Wii.

I have won maybe 400 auctions and I've been burned just once for $8.58. I've bought a few big items ($500 - just bought my Wii over eBay) and it's gone well every other time. I'm really happy with them. I like PayPal, as well. I decided to pick up some eBay stock, as well, since I used them so much. I've never sold anything, though. Just a total buyer. There is so much music I have bought on eBay that 10 years ago I would have never been able to find period. So, I like it a lot.
-
heh. It arrived today. I've played around a bit with the sports pack. Not bad. Looking forward to trying it with some "real" games.

Anyone else buy a lot of stuff on eBay? I'm always buying music there (CDs and a lot of vinyl) and always on the lookout for various things through the favorite searches feature. I bought a 6x RIAA platinum plaque for Diddy's album "No Way Out" just a few weeks ago.

Yeah, they should have totally bundled Duck Hunt with the Wii Sports pack for a blast from the past.
-
Sorry to hear that.

heh, yeah. It looks awesome. Can't wait. I started watching it half way through season 4 and my brother started watching it with me half way through season 5. Since the last season ended, we've been watching the DVDs. We're near the end of season 4 now, so I am 100% caught up and he should be by the time it starts. There was a commercial during Prison Break the other night where Jack had caught Graham and Graham said "you're hurting me" and Jack said "trust me, I'm not."

Does anyone else here watch 24? The new season starts in January with 2 night, 4 hour premiere.

Hello, We removed a post from this thread in error. It is below. I apologize for the confusion. Thanks. I thought this one looked good. By a "nightmare" version, do you mean that you did not like it? I thought it looked ok, but I am no expert in karate kata, by any stretch. the karateka who performes it , is OK . the version he is doing is made up. the refrence is the first one or the third link. Wow i just checked that vid of the seienchin kata, i understand when u think its a nightmare kata and i agree when the version he is doing is made up. But thats not the offical "version" of the goju kata. They way ive learned it off many different gojuryu karate - ka ( okinawan and Japanese) are more peaceful. i quite enjoy it as many do. But yes totally agree with you!

Red Steel is a new video game for the Wii. Orion posted a link to the trailer. You can check out the website, as well. I have hesitated to buy it because I have read some reviews that weren't all that great. But, if you read the site, it sounds like an interesting concept and game, at least. Basically, using the Wii controllers, you can mimic sward movements and control guns to a more in depth extent, etc. So, even if I don't buy this one, I'll be interested to see how they improve on this concept because I think it definitely has potential. Does anyone have the game, plan to buy it or have any other thoughts?

Good luck. -
We may have already had a thread like this, but I just thought it'd be interesting to ask how you found the MA school/dojo/whatever you are currently attending? Thanks.
-
A_Train, Yeah, me either. I'm interested to find out, though. They are also selling a classic controller as well. So, if it's not your thing, but you still want to take advantage of the Nintendo only franchises, that could be a good thing. Orion, Yeah, Amazon.com ... and like everywhere here ... sold out quickly. I live in the middle of no where pretty much (beach area) and all we have here for Wii places is like a Wal-Mart. I didn't even bother trying to get a ride. Tried refreshing on Amazon, but it was gone in like a second, literally. It's not that bad on eBay, depending on what that bad is. I figure you can pay $80-$100 over retail to get it now or you can wait to get lucky or just get one in January. I look forward to testing out the online capabilities, as well.

Is anyone trying to get one or already has one? I picked up one on eBay and found a deal for some games on ToysRUs.com (plus pre-ordering/backordering the new Zelda). Looking forward to giving it a try. Although... I really don't spend much time on gaming. I haven't played any games seriously in months and months. It's kinda sad. Thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving.
