  1. Oh, and bring it on, that was funny. But does cheerleading count as a sport?
  2. Ive seen some of those. A lot of them are fake, but there are a lot of real ones too. Il admit that I laughed at some of them, but once you see some really disturbing ones, you wont want to down load them any more. There is some real sick shit on some those.
  3. Thanks, but do you have any more advice other than "just be yourself"? Also, got any tips for making conversation? Anyone who reads this please respond.
  4. Hey. I havent been on a date in a while but im going out with this girl on friday. Do you have any advise that could make it go well, and advise that could make a good impression?
  5. I never say the movie but i thought it looked good and i would like to see it.
  6. That cartoon was so crap. Nobody ever died or anything. Even if you say a tank or helicoptor explode, right after you would see the pilot or operators running away from the flames or parachuting away.
  7. and also that forum got bearly any repplies.
  8. i would just like to sai saifightms, it wasnt a double post. a few weeks ago I made a forum asking what martial art would be good incase i couldnt take muay thai, but this is completly different.
  9. I think muay thai because it is fairly simple and easy to learn. Or maybe Karate because you could do some fancy kicks and impress them all.
  10. Well, first off, I had to intensions of putting down your style, and I only said that saying because a lot of arts I find that try to do too much end up producing fighters that know a little about everything but not a lot about a certain aspect (look at hapkido as a prime example). Does your style take a really long time to master? because i think that it would be very hard to fit so many ranges and techniques of fighting into a system and still have them effiective. I have never heard of a style covering so many aspects, but then again I havent ever heard of your style so maybe you could inform me about it. I still dont think that any single style or combination could be better than MT/Bjj/Kali/WC because each style is the best in its class and putting them all together would be like creating a perfect style.
  11. Im also looking into what classes are taught at the local university, so there may be more.
  12. Ok, heres the scoop. When I began muay thai i had a teacher named zubair. He was an excellent teacher and a great guy. About 3 or 4 months ago he quit and we got another guy named sean to teach. About a month ago, he got a promotion and he can no longer teach. Now we have a guy named C teaching (thats what everyone calls him because his real name is some long asian name). My friend who I met at muay thai class sais that C used to teach the class a long time ago but he quit because he has shiftwork at his job. C only comes like half the time and he hasnt been for the last 3 classes. This has made my parents really mad because nobody is teaching and it cost a fair bit of money. I think that my parents want to get thier money back for the rest of the year that we paid. I have looked around and there is no other muay thai gym in my city. There is a really good mt gym where my original instructor trained in a city near by, but my parents wont drive me that far. So what do you think I should do? Should I stay at my gym and use the wieghts and take a class whenever C can come? Or should a get my money back and take another martial art? The other arts In my area are a tae kwon do/hapkido class that mix the 2, Brazilian juijutsu, fitness kickboxing, kobudo, and there are like 7 or 8 different Karate dojos.
  13. Are they like the same thing except bjj is rougher? What are their differences.
  14. for 1 What is Budo Taijutsu? Secondly I think that if an art covers so many areas, they will produce fighters who are jacks of all trades but will never be a master of a single range. Well thats just my thought.
  15. I originally wanted to take kung fu but there wasnt a school in my city so i started taking muay thai instead.
  16. Well, I dont go around screaming to the world that i do martial arts, but my friends know that I do. If you are in a street fight it is a good idea to warn your attacker that you do martial arts so he will be aware then the police wont be as hard on you, but dont tell him what style, then it takes away the element of surprise.
  17. Delta1, Most of Muay Thai history has been lost over the years. Particularly in the 1700 during the war with the buremese, during a battle there was a fire in Thailands capital and the archives were destroyed. This is probebly the most excepted theory. Thailand was under constant attack from its nieghbours, so they created a weapon system ( i dont remember what it was called). The soldiors made an idea of how to substitute their limbs for weapons, so they created an un armed hand to hand combat system for the battle field. Several attacks were sepposed to be based on weapons (like and elbow resembles and axe in its movements, ect..) The system was built for the battlefield for when a soldier lost his weapon, so the attacks were ment to be quick, simple and effiective because there would always be multiple attackers, little room and short amounts of time. Thats one of the reasons of why muay thai never made a ground fighting system because if you fell to the ground on the battle field, you would want to get up quickly or you were pretty much screwed. In times of peace, muay thai was used to keep the warriors strong and healthy. Sivilians begane to use it for self defence because it was easy to learn and effiective. Muay thai eventually was faught in the ring and became a sport and decipline for fighters, and is a source of entertainment for the people. Today it is a ring art but is very effiective for self defence. Its not like other ring arts though because it uses full contact sparring (including knees, elbows, clinch and leg kicks) so it teaches practioners to be tough and effeictive.
  18. G95champ. i dont see how korea not splitting until the 50 effects anything in my theory. The controll of japan and china in korea greatly does though. It only means though that their martial arts were effiected by japanses beliefs. The original korean art im sure was Tae kyon (i may be wrong though). This art started the developing of korean arts meaning all korean styles would be based on these techniques. When japan had controll of korea it would also effect the art because japanese ideas would be added into the style. But still the korean art we see today would be based on tae kyon, some of the past teachers beliefs and changes that they made, and some japanese ideas. This still means that this art is still a version/style of tae kyon and a japanese art (lets say jui jutsu as an example). I dont know very much about roman/greek/turk history so i cant respond to that part. First off western countries like america and canada, do not really have their own martial arts except for maybe martial arts that native north americans created. The only arts that we (and great brittian) have are ours are wrestling, boxing and kickboxing. Boxing and wrestling both originated in greece though and were brought here and refined hundreds of years ago. Kickboxing was just created by karate practioners who wanted more freedom so they made kickboxing, which just uses karate kicks and boxing punches. So my point here is that western countries dont have thier own martial arts but use everyone elses (which isnt a bad thing).
  19. Mixing martial arts may not be an art but muay thai/bjj/wing chun/kali would be a mixture of styles that couldnt be beat. Muay thai has great, powerful striking and chinch techniques, hard training methods and full contact sparring and it is one of the best stand up fighting styles. Bjj is probebly the best ground fighting system and has great grappling, throwing, takedowns along with chokes and arm bars. Kali covers a wide range of weapons, how to use them, and how to defend against weapons. Wing chun has pressure points, groin kicks, and hits to vulnerable areas along with joint lock techniques. See, every range and aspect of fighting is covered. This combo covers punches, kicks, knees, elbows, grappling, clinching, groundwork, chokes, armbars, joint locks, pressure points, street defence, weapon use, weapon defence, pratical fighting skills, throws, takedowns, foot sweeps, and all types of blocks, and it probebly has even more. I dont think that you could find many defaults that with this combo except that it would cost a lot of time and money.
  20. 12, currently 13
  21. My style, muay thai uses no belt system. Like they say in muay thai, "the belt is in the ring".
  22. I would like to know anything about hung gar that anyone knows. What are the similarities between hung gar and muay thai. what are the major differences? what would have the upper in a no rules fight.
  23. thats queer it blanked c o c k i n g.
