good point Karate woman, but the criminal would most likely be able to draw a gun from his belt, pants, pocket, coat, or whever pretty fast, and taking a safety off and cocking the gun would take but a second.

aside from what ksn Doug listed, I think they should have put morph and cable into the movie.

Best martial art.
King of Fighters replied to robodjs's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
wing chun I didnt know that shin na was only a sub art, i saw an article about it in kung fu magazine once. So yea i back to the bjj/muay thai/kali/wing chun combo, i dont think that can be beat. -
You forgot about soul calbur, thats the best 3d fighter ever!!!!!

good idea ksn doug, i should put some stuff into it that will support my theory, actually bellow I have some ideas that sepport my theory, they are inside where i am answering back to everyone. No Tombstone it has nothing to do with soul calibur, i just thought it up while playing soul calibur (which is the best 3d fighting game to date). Im not trying to say that each country has only one martial art. What I was trying to say was that each country has one art that been recreated through out history. Every art that has been created in a country is really just a style, variation, or evolution of the grandfather art. Kchenault, judo and aikido are both based on Juijutsu and have many of the same things in them because both jiggaro kaino and who ever created aikido (cant remember his name) were juijutsu masters. Karate they say comes from kung fu and juijutsu. My theory (which is still in the refinment process) states that judo and aikido would be styles of juijutsu, and karate would be a mixture style of juijutsu and kung fu. Paolong, My theory still applies to china. See when budhidharma came to china and created the first form of shaolin kung fu, other monks added their own ideas and made different styles to suit different purposes. These few original styles were taught and people added their own methods and philosiphies to them and made new styles. So it shows that every form of kung fu/gung fu is really based on that first art and every form is really a style of it (although over time the changes have been so drastic that you couldnt tell) Karate woman, I cant answer your question/statement about archery because i know absolutly nothing about archery. well, i hope this has better explained my theory, any more coments/ questions/additions to my theory would be great.

Lethalo - the "Most deadly martial art"?
King of Fighters replied to aznkarateboi's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
This is definetly too good to be true. A seriously doubt that a few months in "lethalo" could better than 10 years in karate, juijutsu or boxing. You notice though even throgh the stories of how effiective it was, it never mentioned anything about what type of techniques it uses or anything. But since it puts down karate kick, judo throws, and juijutsu grappling, id say that it probebly uses a watered down version of karate or kung fu hand techniques along with some weapon defence. That is, if it even has techniques at all, it might just be a scam where you send your money and get nothing in return. -
Well, here is a scientific property about martial arts that I came up with while playing soul calibur. 1. One countries heritage cannot support the creation of multipal arts. A country in its self can only have 1 art and a numeration of styles and lineage. This cannot be denied. While recreation of an art is basically what ones country has done to make several different styles. This explains the my theory of a founding country only being able to maintain and support a single art and generate a numeration of types, methods, and values that have been recreated for the purpose of the user and environment.

Best martial art.
King of Fighters replied to robodjs's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
Besides the ultimate combo of bjj, muay thai, kali, and shin na (i know i said wing chun or dim mak before but this is better), I would have to say that these in my opinion are the best martial arts without cross training. traditional Juijutsu muay thai ninjutsu wing chun shin na and most other styles of kung fu -
I dont know if its too late or if youve already chosen an art but i think i will still state my opinion. I would say Juijustu, Kempo or kung fu would be your best choises. Juijutsu is well rounded because it has striking, chokes, grappling and ground work, and because usually juijutsu schools are pretty good. Kempo and Kung Fu are really good striking arts and they teach really good self defence techniques like eye gouging, groin kicks and pressure points, and they also have some grappling. Also if there is a muay thai school near by I reccommend checking it out.

Best martial art.
King of Fighters replied to robodjs's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
The very best martial art ever created in the whole universe of mankind would have to be crosstraining in bjj, muay thai, kali, and wing chun kung fu. I dont think it could get any better than that. -
If we're gonna be crazy here, then id choose a large straw and suck all my food into my mouth through, or mashing the food and injecting it into my viens.

like a great philosepher once said (i dont remember who though) " a gun has the greatest advantage in long range, but is deadlist in close range". Think about it, whats harder to do, move your arm a couple inches and then pull a trigger, or put in effort to get in close and stab or hit a guy? The person with the weapon would have to be really skilled to just defeat an average joe that has a gun, let alone if it was a person that was skilled with guns.

Ever heard of Ibukido?
King of Fighters replied to ninjanurse's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
ive never heard of it. -
We have no testing or belts. Like the old muay thai saying "the belt is in the ring".
