  1. all my qoutes are from Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, was this the movie?
  2. oh ye of little faith1 i guess theres only one way to find out though huh? ill find a decent wrestling opponet, get you and someother bigies here to approve him/her, and film the fight. this should be intresting.
  3. the think that really ticks me off to no end sometimes is how we all asume our feet have no value in a street fight. since the big wig here seems to be a shotokan fighter, ill talk shotokan for a second. you know how in shotokan youguys love to refer to parts of your body as weapons? and you have like 8 basic ones really? (knees, feet, fist, elbows0 will just because you lost one weapon why are you saying your screwed when theres still 7 more at your disposal! just a thought, but if i had 7 machine guns i wouldnt cry about looseing one, if i was in that situation? use your feet dammit!
  4. lol, yea, hey have you guys ever waited until the teacher is in the middle of a lecture, and then said really loud "SATAN!" in a deep dark voice. lol.....ohh....wrong thread...sorry....
  5. blah! a wrestler can kiss the water goddess on my isshinryu patch! here ill sew it to the back of my gi pants for him. i took some wrestling, im not gonna claim to be a pro at it or a master, but i honest to god do not see how he is supposed to take me down. thats ME personally, me booasting my speed, not my style, im not saying its not possible but the only way a wrestler, me knowing his strategy, is going to get me on the ground is to grab a limb which wont be easy on me, because im damn sure not getting close enough to him for a take down and ill nagle around any forward he dreams of making.
  6. to answer some questions i missed, black belt is just the beggining for the isshinryu krate ka, theres plenty left to learn. Its pretty well rounded, IMO, i get both physical spiritual and mental. i dont know what the heck that question means, but if it helps all the ones i know are pretty emmotionaly stable. and no matter what style you practice, you should train every day. go into the dojo, depends, i go once a week regularly, but if i get a thursday or friday off ill definitly be done there.
  7. god i wish i could do that, already signed up for the navy though, maybe latter on. hey Jerry, what about Okinawa? would shimabuku's old school do that?
  8. oh, and i thought you were a light weight in the pulling my post apart and destroying them club. okay, wanna fight dirty? i have a document here, in my hand, from Shimabukus son's biography that says he DID study Kobayashi. im asumeing, since this information is obviously misled and in correct, that you yourself persoannaly knew master shimabuku? oh, i hate to sound cocky, but if im not stupid enough to end up on the ground in the first place i guess my lack of ground work won't matter will it? NTM, i am actually trying to compete in K-1, hum, not a whole lot of ground work there guy. "to the extreme, i rock a mic like a vandel light up that stage ill wax some chup like a candel" (BTW, want you to know im just playing with you with the personal targeting)
  9. oh lord, now i gotta fight off the bears, i knew it! i was sitting her thing "now whose gonna try and shut me up? Hobbitbob, andrewGreen, could be Rick...havent seen him in a while though..." so let me see if i can contest for just a second. will yea, my bad, no kobayashi, none directly anyways. what i saw was that shimabuku STUDIED Kobayashi. no, they dont all practice tonfa, but then again some dont practice any weapons, but you know i can only say so much at 11:30 at night in one post. IWKA is a BIG event. Nuff said. and never see them in MMA? not what its meant for? what can i say to that...ummm...no! but ill prove that therom wrong in good time. "will it ever stop? Yo! I dont know! turn out the lights, and i'd glow!!"
  10. ive wanted dto for a real long time, but my dads insisted on shotgun cheater! i really like fantasy, ive always wanted to hunt with a bow, and instead of a blaze orange vest and hat, have like a blaze orange cloack, and tied head band with some old peaseant clothes.
  11. oh...oh, okay mister BIG SHOT! you think you can just wally on in here, make a 'friendly little post' and were all supposed to like you? were all supposed to WELCOME you? na-ha, no sir, youll earn your respect around here! you know what? i already dont like you! J/k welcome aboard, dont let me bother you, i was bit by a ravinous dog at the age of six and no one really seemed to want to do anything about it.
  12. "oh, ill kill him! ill kill him dead! with like a...rock or something....a stone..." or better yet: "It is evil! oh man it is SO evil! and we do so many evil, bad things, to be people who are good. i like it, because its so bad!"
  13. heres my list, i no paticular order of course: 1.Isshinryu 2.Isshinryu Karate-do 3.any style created by master shimabuku 4. way of the one heart 5. way of the one mind 6. urynihssI held up to a mirior 7. you know, that one enar the Marine corps base. 8. a hybrid between, Shorin, Goju, Kobayashi-ryu. 9. that style that has a tournament on august 1-2 in gtlinburg 10. verticle fist lovin' frak style.
  14. just last thursday actually, three guys, i was the victor. but i have to be honest, one guy was over weight, and i throw a skinny tall dude into him and then side kicked them both (i got the skinny guy by angling manuver when he tried a haymaker on me) and the third guy? i used a technique i call "The fist of David": I acted scared out of my mind, acted like i tried to run and then triped, and when i went down picked up a good sized pice of loose concrete and hurled it at the one i thought had the best chance of beating me.
  15. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!! i saw that guy at the ISKA, in person! i could have sworn he would either be Shotokan or Kyokoshin! *Beams with delight as the warm fuzzy feeling in his stomach grows*
  16. *sigh* i love how something works for like, ohh, 300 years and then some guy with a PHD comes along and decides his way is better because he went to hardvard. (ps. this was a random example, i dont know who wrote that stuff, geez did you expect me to READ the other post?)
  17. i just wanted to use that tiel for the post, because FINNALY im seeing like three threads here with the words "isshinry" in them, and guess what! I DIDNT PUT THEM THERE! im getting this warm tingly feeling in my stomach, im so happy! actually though i wanted to see if anyones headed to the Isshinryu Hall of Fame competetion in Tennesse this august. if not, note that all isshinryu karate ka are allowed to compete, youll really be missing out!
  18. phantasy star online version 2.0
  19. all beautiful questions, beautiful because they are all about my favorite style! let me see how well i can answer them. will, first a history lesson. Isshinryu karate is a mix of three diffrent forms, Shorin-ryu, Goju-Ryu, and Kobayashi-Ryu. it was created by master Tatsuo Shimabuku and is a fairly recently fordged Okinawain style. It got to the united states as a result of shimabuku's first students, United states Marines. despite its recent upbringing, Isshinryu is very developed and its dojo's are traditional, its hard to tell it apart from the styles rooted early on in karate's history. Sevral things were done to the root styles to improve the technique of Isshinryu. First, stances are low, but not as low probably as Shotokan and some other styles. Also, unlike many other forms, we do not corkscrew our punches but use a somewhat modified verticle punch. We have many kata that are singular to our style (and there quite immpressive looking to) and we also study the weapon arts of the Bo, Sai (my personal favorite) and Tonfa. Isshinryu karate is very street effective, as i unfortunatley was forced to prove last thursday when i was attacked by three guys. but thats another story. We teach many imbasic manuvers for street defense such as knife defense, and the use of certain easy to find objects as street weapons (for instance, your belt). Isshinryu can alos hold its own in tournaments, though like many forms, is rarely seen in the larger mixed art comps (im hopeing to change that ) and intrestingly enough, the IWKA, the largest gathering of Isshinryu Karate-ka and one sweet tournament, will be held in Gatlinburg Tenesse on August 1-2. Isshinryu is a very respected style with a lot of great qualities, if this is available to you, id deffinitly go watch a class, any instructor of Isshinryu would love to hear your intrested and want to watch for a spell, its a great style with plenty of benifits. (yes i know im biased, but hey? im picky, and i love it! ) i hope this helps some, good luck!
  20. see, thats what im talking about! this guy has more contacts than 007. Me and Jerry dont ALWAYS see eye to eye on some stuff but in the genral koladge scene, Jerry is, for our german friends, Das Mann.
  21. they wernt opinions. have you ever heard of external automated sence/ its the ability to simulate senses of things simply from memory. thats what they were testing on the pineapple questions.
  22. yea my dojo has a really nice wall mounted one, it doesnt really effect the hall to much, but then again there isnt any pictures near by either, its got some nice reboind.
  23. YEAAA! thats what im talking about baby, represent! us shimabuku students gotta stick togather!! Im 100% isshinryu, eat sleep and breath it. we are, of course, the best (duh!) but i guess we dont see eachother often because we are to modest compared to the other styles to admit it in public here.....me being the exception of course.
  24. going to asia to train is something i want to do to. but his right, youll get screwed over like nothing. if you really want to this though, PM JerryLove, he might no what to do. in the mean time i would get at least shodan in the USA, what style are you after?
