  4. Hey Coonaxus, how does that ninja sword work? I dont mean actually HOW, but do you like it? Is it worth the money? I was considering buying it, but wasnt sure if it was worth it.
  5. Yeah, its really effective. I use it a lot when I fight. I havent been in an actual fight in a couple of years, back before my capoeria days. I used to be part of a "fight club." Nothing too drastic because it was done at school outside during lunch. It was like wrestling with more moves and pinning wasnt necessary. Just first one on the ground loses. Before my matches, everyone would make fun of the ginga and say "What are you dancin for??" I would always reply with "You'll see." They found out when they were on the ground. One guy was acting all tough and said that my dancing could never beat him. I took his legs out from under him and he was still in the air when I spun around. lol I love the ginga! _________________ *To HELL with opportunity! 6. Finally got my full side split today.
  7. Its a combat martial art. No kata involved. Check out the combat martial arts forum. There are some threads on JKD in there.
  8. Rednecks, and stereotypical people. They make my life hell. They wont leave me alone, always yelling FREAK! when they see me or something. Aside from that, I cant stand posers. Also, those who always try to pick a fight with me the minute they find out Im a martial artist and then start naming off pro wrestlers who they think could kill me. I guess I could narrow mine down to RUDE PEOPLE. Thats pretty much what all of these people are.

  10. SWAT stands for Special Weapons And Tactics. My mom was asked to join one once. She declined though because they have to leave home a lot for special training. Im also friends with someone who is on the SWAT team. I would ask him about the styles, but he was in the national guard and has been called into duty. They use a lot of pressure points in their training. I know that for sure. The main one is the side of the leg above the knee. Ive been taught a lot of it. I dont know what the actual names of the styles that it was taken from was. I heard that the Navy Seals were learning stickfighting, I think. I know it was one of the special forces. Im not sure if it was the seals though. Im gonna try to find some info on this for you tomorrow when I can go to the post and find out.
  11. I love to play a lot of sports, but I hate to watch most of them. The ones I actually watch are skateboarding and martial arts competitions and stuff. My fav sk8ers are Bucky Lasek and Bob Burnquist. I dont have a fav MA competitor. It comes on tv too little for me to develop an opinion.
  12. I remember seeing an extensive artice on the animals of Hung Gar in an issue of Inside Kung Fu magazine I have around here somewhere. Im gonna try to find it. I think it has a lot of info that you would be interested in.
  13. hahahaha PUNK MARTIAL ARTS! I love it! I'll start the school! I dont know what the rest of that stuff is that u meantioned, but punk is good. lol I can call it..... ANAR CHY-JUTSU
  14. Reminds me of my old algebra teacher. *shrugs*
  15. I dont mind using dogs for the hunt, but certainly not the kill. A lot of people I know train their dogs to scare the animal out of its hiding place so the humans can kill it, but the dog doesnt actually kill it. Im assuming that this kind of hunting is for pure sport and that no food comes from this. If that is so, then Im against it. I wont kill an animal unless it serves a purpose of food or is a danger, etc.
  16. Thats hilarious! USE THOSE KEYS! lol *attacks in a blaze of British fury*
  17. TKD, like YODA said, if it was YOUR kid who needed the organ, would you not want this to save them? I dont know of any parent who would say no. Although most would say "Well, thats different..."
  18. Im all for it!
  19. hahaha yeah, I love that site. Ive been goin there for about 2 years. Its hilarious!
  20. Hidy didy! Welcome!
  21. lol TKD! Luckily, I can't stand either one of them.
  22. Well, me being the loser that I sometimes tend to be, I forgot about one of the best places to get swords! EBAY! lol I was looking on ebay last night for a berimbau and found a ton of swords. I believe there was even a sword wielded by an actual samurai. That one was really expensive though, as you can imagine. I saw some handmade chinese swords as well, but that isnt what you're looking for, so it was pretty much pointless for me to say it. lol You can get a lot of hard to find martial arts equipment on ebay. Oh yeah, a word of warning.... if you search for swords, make sure you make it VERY specific because there are thousands of swords for sale. Also, there will be this one sword that everyone seems to have and they want it gone. Its described as a "NINJA/SAMURAI KATANA SWORD! BLACK AND RED!" or something like that. Anyway, its a poorly made sword that is sold for about 20 bucks. Ive seen it on there for 300. So be careful and check the merchandise before you bid.
  23. Can anybody help me with Japanese etiquette? I have been invited to go to Japan in the summer of 2004 and I dont wanna offend people while Im there. Im in the process of learning to speak Japanese, but etiquette is not included in the lessons. Thanks.
