I dont know about actual weighted "clothing", but Ive seen weighted vests on the internet and weights for ankles and wrists in most sporting goods stores. You could try http://www.weightvest.com , but I warn you. Weighted vests are kinda pricy. Im gonna be buying some new 20lb ankle weights tomorrow or wednesday.

Blade13 replied to PlatinumStatus's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Heh, Im in the same boat Platinum. The closest thing Ive got to learning it is to download clips of forms and copy what they do. lol Even though its not actually learning, Id recommend it cuz its just fun. I live in south Georgia though. There are no chinese martial arts at all within 90 miles of me. -
I could give a lot of info on Capoeira, Ninjutsu, and Jeet Kune Do, but the stuff in the post by Hiya pretty much summed it up. You could just reword it. If you still want my info, just lemme know.

Ninjitsu
Blade13 replied to rabid hamster's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
Well, I dont know if the kai means anything, I dont really know a lot about Ninpo. It is probably good. Taijutsu is just the actual unarmed fighting of Ninjutsu. Ninjutsu is a combination of a ton of arts. Taijutsu (unarmed), Kenjutsu (sword), etc. And yup, there is Bujinkan Ninjutsu. Good luck with getting ur mom to take u to the Ninpo Kai dojo. I wish I had one of those around here. _________________ *To HELL with opportunity! I create opportunity!*-Bruce Lee ______________ [ This Message was edited by: Blade13 on 2002-05-06 18:34 ] -

Ninjitsu
Blade13 replied to rabid hamster's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
Well, most of the "modern" ninjutsu is just the taijutsu part of it. Some schools still teach stealth and a lot of the more old stuff. Ninpo is more in depth with all of the training. It also works on a spiritual level. If you consider Ninpo, then you would probably have to travel quite far to train in it (depending where you are). There are only 2 grandmasters left. One is in Japan and I cant remember where the other is. _________________ *To HELL with opportunity! Blade13 replied to rabid hamster's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
Well, Ninpo is a higher form on Ninjutsu. Yeah, tabi are worn. I love them! Theyre really comfortable. As for stealth, I dont know if all dojos will teach it, but some do. You cant expect to learn all of the old Ninja stuff. I dont think u will find too many places that will teach explosives and has horses and stuff. I had to learn those on my free time. -
Should we dump the 10:00 PM EST Chat Time?
Blade13 replied to Patrick's topic in KarateForums.com Announcements
Its fine with me because I am never home by 10 on a Friday. That could be really early for those on the west coast of the US though. I doubt many of them could make it, so maybe two chat times is best. *shrugs* I could be wrong. -
I like chicken and mushrooms or sushi.

I saw a fight between two girls at school the other day, and one was fighting EXACTLY like this! Windmills and everything. She was even swearing like him. It only lasted about 7 seconds, but it was hilarious. Neither one of them got more than 2 punches in. All were weak as well.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! They really helped. And happy early birthday KickChick!

I got invited to go to a Filipino martial arts camp in June by the people who put on a tournament I competed in last October. They said that it will involve single stick, double stick, knife fighting, two circle fighting, unarmed combat, etc. Anybody got some tips on what I should do to get ready? Thanx. _________________ *To HELL with opportunity! Does anyone have any tips for getting over being nervous? My choral director wants me to do a martial arts demo in the spring chorus show, like... with flips and stuff. Wushu style, basically. I have confidence that I can do it. I know I can, but Im afraid that I will get nervous before I go on stage. Ive never had to do any martial arts performance before. When I get nervous, my leg shakes and that could have some bad results if I have a shaky leg while doing some kind of flip. *gulp* The show is on May 11.
