  1. thnx tomb i apreciate it!
  2. Hi all my question here is about building your chesy size, im pretty much down on the abs and the back ect... however im having problems with my chest( in the matter of increasing their size) is it because of nutrition or weight training? Can anyone help thnx A routine that i can follow would help a bunch too if anyone can help me with KEEP TRAINING AND ALWAYS WORK HARD AT IT!
  3. Go for it friend i started MA when i was very young however i stopped and picked it back up at around 13, my point being is not to worry about what other ppl are going to think bout ur skill. Have fun training and always work hard at it and u will see the results, its your body and mind not others
  4. Thnx 4 replie wc and i somewhat agree with u however try to hit someone that can move like they can, i have practiced regional capoeira and true, its not the most practical fighting method however it does complement your already existing skills IMO
  5. Thats correct, mark dacasco is the son of Al Dacasco the founder of Won hop kuen do a branch of from the original kajukenbo.
  6. I can not give u an explanation as too how a style would work in this intance however u must also factor in the realities with this kind of situation first obviously the guy is not alone u are in a club/pub second there are many weapons around that can either be used for or against u, and finally use ur head u dont wanna put ur self in that situation n e ways My student friend studies WC aswell and is much more experienced in it then me howevr he has become binded to his style i.e stances forms so on.... my point being whatever dicipline u fall under one must remember one important thing is that if u are not prepared and all u participate in is point fighting or katas when u get hit ur going down. I agree with alot of what u guys have posted and i have also found this loop hole int he style, when i first started capoeira regional i had natural talent at it because i use to breakdance, now in a test of my patience a intermidiate student struck me several times very hard and attempted to sweep me but he was the one on the floor My main point is that i have received many blows from many diff kind of ppl and i was prepared for such atts, now while it is most illogical to prepare urself to the full extend of a fighting situation its always better then nothin IMO
  7. I like a more animal style move of some sort.
  8. Taichi foresure ,yang style is the health form of the art and then there is chen style which is more combative and there is also wu style taichi that involves alot of power kinda like the dragon I would say pure yang style for the great health benefits it brings with it.
  9. thnx the swarm very true, i am abit more experienced on the street however i can say one thing fore sure IMO the key elements here are focus, calm and not letting ur emotions get the better of you, secondly if u have to fight do hard and fast with attacks that will criple opponent i.e groin, eyes, knees ect... if u can nail ur opponent off guard lets say in the middle of a sentence it will be that much more devastating. I was watching a show on TV about MA's and there was a guy that grew up in the ghetto and throughout his life he saw alot of bad things but MA's changed that for him and one dday a guy aproached him asking for a match of which he replied he didnt have, the guy reached for some thing but he didnt get to far because the MA's nailed him with a barage of devastating blows, when the guy was down unconcious he moved his jacket to reveal a sawed off 12 gauge. Now my point being is in the street its really scary and for me i really dont like fighting i just find having a positve attitude and avoiding these things would be great however like a unpredictable day of rain u might just have to defend yourself maybe evn for ur life. I was curious to find out ppls outlook on this subject and found it quite interesting. Though not much ppl replied to it . N e ways i wish all those MA's that seek betterment in themselfs luck and hope as the next generation of MA's we help each other to acheive our goals and maybe someday MA's wont need a fighting aspect( even though i luv it! ) because the lack of understanding and acceptance will be diminished.
  10. I agree with ninja there is a good saying to back this from taichi "the stiff branch will snap in the wind but the blade of grass will yeild to live another day" however i have found its also because of the teacher why some styles are binded to there tradition, they seem not to have room for understanding that life is ever changing and denie the fact that they must move with this change. Bruce said every true MA's is trying to acheive the goal of one soul natural element:water! beacuse of its adaptability to anything "now water can flow or it can crash be water my friend"-Bruce Lee-
  11. Hey thnx for the vid but im still skeptical about it? And seven i like ur explanation on the topic very insightfull, very true capoeira is played not fought
  12. Im curious does anyone think that capoeira is a good combative style? Why?
  13. To inform or should i say educate some ppl about capoeira, was because MA was illegal and they had to diguise it from the portuguese slave masters. Yes it is very similar to a dance but has a unique fighting aspect that comes with it. I studied capoeira regional the more combatant out of the bunch, i can tell u one thing i kinda agree with most of u for that part in the who would beat who ina real fight but when u get hit with a armada or a pontera from one of the masters i think u might understand the power that comes with a good practitioner of capoeira. In the old days they would have street rodas (fights) and the master that began the circle(Mestre Bimba) was unbeatable and knowone was able to touch him TJS said Not that i dont beleive u but where can i see this fight u speak of? And one thing foresure i dont think everyone of them were beat, i have done several rodas and i have seen ppl knock out unconcious due to some heavy blows by kicks or flips ect... Im not trying to defend the art however if u have not done any of it or have not experinced a real roda then i beleive its hard to make some assumptions about any styles.IMO N e ways have fun training and always work hard at it!
  14. I understand but how hard is it to understand N e ways thnx 4 posts
  15. Hey thnx JJF i didnt know that
  16. Here let me make it more clear to you, i mean in the sense if chi is beneficial to u as a martial artist for internal cultivation and the decrease of ones self or ego?And why? Better
  17. Thnx ogre for ur replie i just dont understand y some posters are reluctant to explain their views on being successfull in a fight Atleast some people can understand a simple question
  18. My friend follow ur heart and dont listen to people who are negative towards any art, TKD is a very good system however from personal experience i would say JDK because it is a concept not a style, simply because u learn to grow from it and not be restricted to the style or binded by it. JDK obviously has a bases of concepts however u learn to grow away from this preconceiverd fix notion i.e: "take what is usefull and discard what is useless and adapt it to what is originally your own" Tao JDK. Good luck and have fun training
  19. THATS NOT THE POINT! Im talking about the key aspects of being successfull in a fight, e.i anger ,calm, tactics what .... thats the question i am curious to understand and to find out waht people think?
  20. sevenstar said Very true however the reason i responded in that matter is because u applied it to a human being but in a theoretical sense and that is why i said not entierly true. Thnx for your insights and keep training and always work hard at it!
  21. Alright friends i am very curious as to hear peoples views and aspects on winning a streetfight, to be more clear it doesnt have to be a one on one just any kind of fight maybe if you were with some friends out in the town then a bunch of guys pick one with u or in a bar whatever u want but try to keep it simple more or less the main ideas and points to look at in winning or even surviving a fight?
  22. Personal growth, mind body spirit, ect....
  23. Hello again everyone i was wondering, i am currently practicing kajukenbo a kinda overkill MA when it comes to being in a streetfight or whatever kinda situation. My question is as a MA in a fight(not competition) more or less in the street how would u deal with an agressor and lets not get too technical meaning he/she is really trying to hurt you maybe not kill but severly bash ur head in and the choice to difuse the situation is lost. Im just curious as to what people think so please try not to go off topic, Thnx alot and good luck in your training
