  4. yes the dojo I will join is part of IKO https://www.cujickyokushin.com I will start on 20/01 once they open after their Christmas & new year's holidays I wish it will be a good dojo !!
  5. Thanks for sharing your experiences Hawkmoon
  6. it's really a good post specially for someone like me going to start his MA journey with Kyokushin classes so I am currently looking for any topic throughout the whole forum about kyokushin style btw what's IKO ??!!
  7. Solid post .... One of the best posts I have ever read about Kyokushin Thanks for that post
  8. Aha...tablets!! Thank you!! No worries ... most welcomed
  9. To the bold type above... How do they taste? Like chalk? Bland? Yucky? Arnica & L-carnitine are not shakes, both are available in tablet forms (in Australia), Arnica is available as a cream as well for muscle aches & injuries.
  10. Protein shakes are very good to help muscle recovery after training but my only concern about it is if it has any side effects on the body (specially liver & kidneys) on the long run ? I would recommend Arnica & L-carnitine as supplements with training.
  11. Very nice article ... Thanks for sharing it
  12. I hope so Patrick
  13. Patrick, Currently I am looking for something close to my place so I have Kyokushin karate, White crane Kung Fu, self defence courses and something called " Ryu Bujitsu Kai Karate " (the website it's saying: "It incorporates a mix of Karate, Ju jitsu, Kickboxing, Grappling , making it a complete martial arts and fighting system."). I will start Kyokushin (closest to my place) by 20/01/14 with 3 free trial classes but I am open to try something else if it's more efficient in self defence.
  14. Thanks Zaine, i will try to find one
  15. Can I ask why no red meat ??!!!
  16. Thanks Wastelander for your comment. so I think a mix of both will be the best !!
  17. Hello Guys, For self defense, is it better to train in self defense classes or train in a MA classes or both ?! If MA which one is the best for self defense in your opinion ?!!!
  18. Yes there is no beginners classes. I was initially looking for a dojo doing special classes fro beginners but I couldn't find one Anyway I will give it a go. I have 3 free classes to try, hopefully it works for me
  19. It's only because the dojo is closed till 16/01/2014 (Christmas & new year holidays) and there is only 2 adult classes held on Monday & Thursday but unfortunately because of my work shifts I will be able to attend only 1 of them. There is no beginners class and for this reason I have asked in another thread before how can I (no info about karate) train with others who are more experienced than me? I hope the instructor puts this in consideration during the training.
  20. Yes Wagnerk, that's what I want to know specially the mentally part!
  21. Yes GKR is a typical McDojo. I met their rep the other day, she wasn't that professional and she was trying to push me by all possible means to join them and sign a contract on that night ... but she failed
  22. Hi guys, I just want to know how do I prepare myself for my first class? How did everyone of you prepared him/herself for the first Karate class ?!! your experiences please
  23. Yes i know wagnerk, they mentioned that it's general guide & might differs from organization to another. Do u think there will be major differences between organizations?!
